About car collecting, how do you choose em? What i meant is the color scheme.
As for me, i try to stick to one or two color only. Like my Extream Tuner collection, my S15, 350Z are white. I wanted to get a white M3 but it's poorly done, so i got the black one instead. To bad there's no balck or white for the long awaited skyline sad.gif

Dun have..damn regret never buy the Calsonic R32 skyline when I hunted one down in Australia last time.

Sure the new autoarts looks much better but there's a certain element of nolstagia with those old kyosho's.

I've got the NSX Type-R, NSX Type-S Imola Orange, Supra, RX-7 (first generation right hand drive....not the re-release)

For the UT models...I have the first Mclaren F1 (silver), Mclaren F1 LM, Mclaren F1 forgot the name...the long black one) among others lar.....the F355's coupe, spyder...F550's....forgot lar..its been a while..

Autoart I only have the Diablo SV then I stopped collecting di....

Tomica are die cast cars in 1:64 (hot wheels scale). price : rm 6.90 a piece. Most of the cars from Japanese car manufacturer.

Here's my collection, pic taken last year and my collection has grown ever since smile.gif

Tomy, manufacturer of Tomica, also introduce Tomica Limited line, like this...

That one is R34 Skyline...the R32 Skyline is the first Kyosho 1:18 scale model and last time was going for about USD200 or something on ebay. Not the bathurst winner re-release.

Nope...they're sitting on my display case back in Malaysia ( I hope )

the sparkle of the metallic paint is quite obvious thou... but it looks really cool.
the camera's flash probably made it reflect more...

I just got my very first diecast model today. Its a Renault R25. Initially I was planning to get the McLaren mp4-20, but there wasnt any left. The only left are Renault, Ferrari, and Williams laugh.gif. OMG, I went to 4 different places and all of them said the McLaren is completely sold out. So i got the Renault one as its my favourite after McLaren. Got this for RM119.90 at parkson laugh.gif. Its a Hotwheels model btw and the details of the car is good enough i guess

I'll try to upload a picture in the next few days. My digicam is not with me currently

Hey, guys!! This thread caught my attention as i m currently seeking for SLR in Silver 1:18. Where to get it? I knew there are some out there but they r not detail in finishes. I even went to the Merc showroom to take a look at the official merchandise SLR. It's still not satisfying and quite a sum too.. I saw a few in a German website. Excellent finish but the price is jaw dropping. The medium size costs around 194 ...EUROs cry.gif !!! The huge one is EUR1800!!! doh.gif

Autoart is the best mainstream diecasts around that's for sure but CMC is another different catergory. I haven't seen their modern models but their classics cannot be beat.

car_o_scope: if budget's a concern then get the AA like Jack posted.

long time didnt post here adi. good to see its back.
some time back i found a few AutoArt 1/18 R32 GT-R models. they look really good but since its those limited edition millenium models, they cost a massive RM330 or 360 i think. cant remember.
I bought my BNR34 V-spec II at RM229. if its at that same price i would probably have bought it already. the gun metal grey one looks really nice.

Hey dude... Why you didnt post yours here?

HOWEVER, I'm now collecting 1:24 Die Cast model from SAICO (Extreme Tuner)
I have Honda Civic (aka EG9) and Honda Integra.

Dou have any suggestion for another model/manufacturer? I'm in mood to change for 1:18 scale now. Looking for BMW M3 and SKYLINE for starting. At the beginning of the post, its quite a model like have been posted by MetalZone.

i used to buy hotwheels models a long time ago. yea they were toys to me back then. played around wif em, run em through the hotwheels track system, got some paintwork chipped off. i think you can consider those 1:64s as both toys and models, since there are replicas of real cars among them, albiet not as detailed as the bigger ones.
so here's my small colection of hotwheels cars smile.gif

Dude, the 1:64 models is from TAMIYA right? I went to a shop and they have 8 models left. I is around RM34. Is it reasonable? Its realistic...

*
Nope, its from Tomica. Price? rm 19.90. If you got Jaya Jusco in Penang, there's a big chance you'll find one. The tyres made of rubber and all of the decals are there including the small Honda badge. I currently looking for the Nissan car to complete my collection.

The one that I saw is from TAMIYA, in that scale, it also have the aerial on the car roof just like the GT touring car.. almost 100% real with all the decals from the sponsor. It also using rubber tyres.

However, this is from SAICO

oh btw, Hot wheel lovers rejoice! Carrefour is selling basic car for rm 2.99 each ! rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Yesterday during lunch time, i went to carrefour near at my workplace. As i passed the cashiers at the entrance, i saw the price tag of HW... rm 2.99! so i rush to the HW aisle. And i arrived there, i was shocked, there was only 2 cars on the peg! blink.gif blink.gif There's a mattel promoter diligently stocking matchbox (some new MB, 2006 cars i think) and asked her on HW. She said they have no stock for HW blink.gif blink.gif

hi there wink.gif so what scale you intend to collect? 1:18? 1:24? 1:43? 1:64? I myself shop at regular supermarket for my cars. Why? sometimes they will have sale, so you can save money or buy extra cars. Hobby shops rarely have sale and the pricing is sometimes higher for the same item compared to supermarkets.

Btw, dont be ashamed lah, you should see me when i'm on my hotwheels shopping spree... tongue.gif

the price is around RM190 and i believe some shops can giv discount on that.
actually tamiya have 2 models for a similar DTM, one is w/o the paintings just like normal, the other one which is rarely seen is the one with all the official paintings and it looks great and buyers dun need to worry bout the outside paintings, so its really depends on the buyer whether he wanna fix it himself or just get those prefix..
i think shld b this one.. http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=24263

First time posting over this section:

I am looking for a die cast model, preferly 1:18 or 1:24 for either both acura RSX or the Honda Integra Type R, and i prefer to be white.

Do u see any of these models frm Maisto or Auto Art, and where to get it? I do see most maistos frm all shops but seldom see auto art.

This is the one frm maistom which looked ok for me:
http://www.speednation.com/store/product711.html

But the one i desire is this! drool.gif frm auto art:
http://www.autoartmodels.com/pages/search/....php?item=73241

Has anyone seen the integra DC5/Acura RSX sold in ur shores?

Today i spent some time went hunting at midvalley and it proved to be a fruitless search sad.gif

I browse though alot of toys and model shop and they told me there no more stock for acura RSX/Honda integra DC5 from maisto, and i did see one from auto art from the Nikko branch. Unfortunatelly the only staff on that shop appears to be a complete noobie which i felt wanna throw a punch at him doh.gif

However, i did saw a 1:64 integra by autoart, and the price is reasonable. However i still hunting for a bigger one.

Do anyone of u guys know any shops that sells autoart stuffs as well, with more variety? Help is much appreciated thanks notworthy.gif

Jasonist : yup, i own all of them smile.gif I dont have WRC car at the moment. Maisto has only one WRC car, the Peugot WRC car priced around RM 129.

travis_ckf : you can try a hobby shop at 5th floor at Times Square (i dont remember the name), they carry a reasonable AutoArt cars, and if somebody looking for Raikkonen's car, its there tongue.gif

guys, if you are paying rm 150 ~ rm 200 for Maisto cars, you are paying too much. Here in KL, the highest price for a Maisto car is RM 129.

Wallau... Nice and huge collection u got there drool.gif .
I notice that u keep those hotwheels in its blister pack and collect by series, higher resell value in future huh?
As for me, I keep it loose but stores in mint in individual car slot and stackable storage. I collect only those hotwheels that I like... but Jap models are a must.. these includes HKS Altezza, typeR, Skyline, Supra, AE86, Eclipse etc.
For series... I only go for Redlines.
I maintain my list in hotwheelscollectors.com, less than 50 as at now... which models varies from 2003 - 2006, and one from 2000 (unfinished 2000 1st edition Deuce Roadster).

i oso found this 1/18 LEXUS IS 350 2006, oso from AUTOART. however the packaging is far different from other models... it seems like any kind of special edition which quite similar to the MILLENNIUM SERIES packaging. so the price is very stunning!

another car tat caught my eye is the 1/18 LAMBORGHINI GALLARDO police car ... dono from which country but it looks cool to me... it is produced by MAISTO and cost around RM130.

do u you guys have any collection of KYOSHO die-cast??? KYOSHO is basically specialized in remote control cars... but the company does produce minor range of die cast... and i can tell u that the die cast quality is extremely superb. i think the quality is better than autoart... unfortunately this japanese company mostly produces american and european cars... i bet it costs very very high for a die cast model...

here is the example of the product from KYOSHO - the BMW 545i Sedan (E60)

Mine's in Bayside blue. I posted pics in page 2. Post #34 and #35
I've personally seen them in yellow, white, nismo grey, and black, besides bayside blue. They all look good.

At the moment I still can't find any REAL Nismo Z-Tune Z2 models. All those pics u see online are using the same old bodyshape as the normal V-spec II's, which is actually similar to the prototype Z-Tune, except it is nismo grey and nismo stripes. But the final version that was sold and limited to 20 units is nismo grey, with no nismo stripes, and with wider front fender wheelarches, has a wheelarch strip at the rear, nismo bumpers (the top of the nose at the lights is pointed outwards, not flat), LED rear lights, and has air vents at the top corners of the front fenders (near the side mirrors). Those Nismo Z-Tune's u see just have the nismo hood with vents, but missing all the elements of the 20 limited edition Z-Tune Z2 final release.
If I can find a full spec Z-Tune Z2 model, i'll definately consider buying.

I've seen pics of police Diablo's as well, including from japan. They have all sorts of jap sports cars as police cars as well, including the R34 GTR, RX7 FD3S, NSX, Imprezza WRX MY05, Evo's, Galant VR4's, Mitsu GTO.

Shud be able to find i guess, i bought mine in ipoh's Nikko shop in kinta city/jusco quite some time back. That time they happened to bring in a couple of BNR34's. So i got to see the entire range of colours and i wanted one immediately.
I've seen them in midvalley also i think.

Guess the only obvious exterior difference between the stock one is the S-Tune is in nismo grey and stripes, with a wing.

^chalaza^ : Do you have the Subaru WRC car?

if anyone wants to buy discounted 1:18 car, head over to MJ BB; they have old Maisto cars for sale. Bought a Maisto's BMW 325i cabriolet the other day.

Do you guys buy any die cast magazine ? I bought Scale Modeller International and Toy Car Magazine monthly.

RM 49.90 . Please check the cars thoroughly before paying because some of them is broken.

Jasonist : Nikko MidValley is selling old stock of AutoArt till the end of this month, that's why the price is low.

btw, to all hotwheels collector who wants to score some freebies stuff from Mattel, just bring your hw boards and redeem them at Parkson Grand. 5 boards will get you a pencil case, 10 boards for a t-shirt (kiddie size tongue.gif ) and 20 boards for a bag.

hmm frankly i dont know much abt ford cars...but surely will range around the RM$250 onwards price range.

initially i'm a hardcore rally collector then i developed an affinity towards JGTC models.

yes if you're a true collector you will appreciate all cars bestowed upon us here in KL but if you really want to move a step further in collecting s'pore is surely the place to be.

i dont hv a place of business but i do operate from home i suppose.

if u wan i can get the cars for u but surely will cost more than getting it from nikko m'sia.they've got larger bulk order.

at the moment what's left is WRC toyota 98' sainz price is $160 negotiable.this is a personal fav but model cupboard too packed.so needs to go.

all other models are sold out.

my next tender would arrive in sept. and would generally consisit of lemans and classic cars.

My collection posting this week is the 1/24 Mazda RX-7 FD3S driven by Redsun's Keisuke Takahashi from the anime Initial D. It is produced by HOT WORKS RACING and is Initial D licensed product... What I like is the quality... though its in the scale of 1/24, i can say tat the quality is amazing. I think it is the best quality die-cast so far for the Initial D models. Coz other maunfacturer such as Jada Toys does not have the quality in building Initial D die cast...

Unfortunately HOT WORKS only offers sealed doors die cast... only the bonnet is openable... other features include changable engine, changable driver seat, changable spoiler, changable rims, changable disc brakes, changable front bumpers and plate numbers... suspensions and cambers are adjustable too...

here are some of the photos of the FD:

What scale do you looking for and what BMW model? If you looking for 1/64 scale, Matchbox has the M3. In the 1/18 scale you can choose between Kyosho, autoArt or Maisto.

Well for Matchbox car, you just search at your local supermart like Parkson, Metrojaya. There you'll find Maisto cars also. For autoArt cars you can try Nikko MidValley or at Berjaya Times Square. Toycity also have them.

this 1/24 AE86 is a product of hotworks racing... which has quite similar features of the previous rx-7 FD... sealed doors but bonnet openable, changable driver seats, addable front yellow spot lights, changable rims and disc brakes, changable steering, a cup which takumi often put in his car, japanese number plates, changable engine and bonnet...

Oh surely the quality is different.

I've been looking at AA models for many yrs and compared the models with other brands.

Definately AA is the way to go dudes

oh yes i know what that feels like..i was at it for many yrs till chged to diecast.the parts falls apart if the glue used is nt strong enuff.then everything just simply falls apart.

AA is expensive but surely worth paying for.the material and paint work beats all!!

My model is the 05' Monte Carlo AA model.Retail value is about MYR$329.I bring in AA cars when the shipment comes in.Not all the time though.

It's not a fully sealed model doors and bonnet all open nicely.

I've develop a love for this model as i personally the like the real car but for now can only settle for the diecast form.I collect mostly JGTC and WRC models.

AA cars are well known for it's quality and paint work.So i suppose paying more won't really hurt if u like collecting models

well if u go for higher quality models, choose autoart... i know kch here got 2 autoart rx-8 in light yellow color... they are in the original version... autoart cars are normally cost RM260 and above...

btw, if not wrong, i think Jada Toys does produce Initial D cars such as the rx-7 FD...

I bought my RX-7 from singapore. It cost around RM120.My RX-7 comes with 2 sets of rims and a CF hood.I think your RX-8 should also have 2 sets of rims and a extra hood.If you hate model car without rotatable front wheels,i would advise you to avoid Jada Toys.

If you want really good models, get Autoart's models. They are the best but i cant afford one.Too expensive.

juz saw an 1/18 initial d skyline gtr r32 in satok here, from jada toys de... the tauke got order 1/18 ae86 but oredi sold out.. the quality of the skyline is not bad.. but i didnt have the chance to check out the ae86 coz since it has been sold out... but other initial d cars from jada toys in smaller scales still available such as the ae86 and evo3...

btw, im looking for an 1/18 skyline gtr r34 v-spec of autoart, either in black or sparkling silver... anyone who owns this model can tell me more info bout it pls? i found one in satok but its white in color.. however, i found out tat there are no window glasses on the r34 model, which normally other autoart models have... is this normal for the skyline gtr r34??? a car model without window glasses and its still an autoart...??? shocking.gif

u mean online purchasing? well, i plan to go to the peninsular and find it myself first... im searching for either v-spec (any color except white) or 1999 model (purple), which is the one u saw at the nikko klcc, but very unfortunate tat it closed down... doh.gif

btw, im still curious bout the lost window glasses on the r34... rclxub.gif i wonder any owners of the model can share this info bout this... smile.gif i wonder where sc79 has gone, i remember he has a r34 v-spec in silver, if im not wrong...

Jackygwh: well if like that then i dono le... but i think the photos u post on pg.1 looks like r34 v-spec too, which is kinda similar to the one i post here... hmm... as i kno, autoart got three types of skyline gtr r34 being produced... one is an ordinary version which is 1999 model only, second is the v-spec II version and thirdly the NISMO Z-TUNE version, which is kinda impossible to find in malaysia here... i guess...

Cheesenium: well, i have no idea where to buy the model in KL coz im not from KL, im from KCH... if ur in KCH, u can go satok and request for it... the tauke there is kinda friendly approach and he will try his best to help... my Evo IX was got from there too...

hmm... why u say so? i tot KL suppose to have bigger market for quality die cast than in KCH... so u should have more selection there compared to here... but i do hope u can share ur photos of ur models and post it here... really hope to see ur collections as well...

btw... since tomolo is a special day in malaysia... happy merdeka to everyone in the thread! icon_rolleyes.gif

hayashi86: nop i don have the d1 gp models... so far im still not the fans of it... tongue.gif but i do have the japanese anime version "INITIAL D" models of ae86 and rx-7 fd, from hotworks too... u can check it out on pg18 and pg19 on this thread.

Cheesenium: its ok regarding the quality good o bad.. as long as u have the die cast models, u can show it in the thread... theres nth bout cheap/dear stock discrimination... besides, this is wat the thread is all bout rite? i do hope Jackygwh will agree this point too... icon_rolleyes.gif

btw, i really cant imagine KL is lack of autoart stock, how bout those in huge shopping centres such as one utama, mid valley, alamanda etc...???

1 Utama only has clothes, not models.Till now they havent stock my orange Murchielago. There used to have another Autoart store over there but now also gone.In 1 Utama, the only place i find model is Jusco Toys Department and Toy'r'us.Other than that,i cant find any models else where.I heard Sunway Pyramid has a nice model store but i havent pay a visit there yet.

I dont mind paying RM260 for a nice evo,though.

Oklah,i'll post my cars after trials, and my bro's one too.
