Rules & Regulations
All participants shall abide by the Rules and Regulations stated herein. Participants or their entries found in violation of any of the Rules and Regulations may be disqualified, at the sole discretion of the judges.

1 This competition is open to all.

2 There are total of 34 classes in 6 categories for this competition

3 Each entry shall consists of one (1) Betta splendens.

4 A non-refundable entry fee shall be charged for each entry. All entry forms shall be accompanied by cash payment in full. (Please refer to Entry Form for Entry Fee).

5 Although there will not be a closing date for submission, the organizers reserve the right to reject any further entries delivered later than 8 pm on 18 April 2011

6 Each show betta splendens entry must be at least 3.5cm in body length, measured from the tip of the mouth to the end of the caudal peduncle (i.e. not including the caudal fin). Judges reserve the right to disqualify entries below the minimum size.

7 In the event of overwhelming number of entries and limited display space, the organizers reserve the right to limit the participants’ entries per class, to encourage more participation from hobbyists and breeders. Unsuccessful applicants shall be informed prior to the competition date and fees will be refunded.

8 The organisers reserve the right to re-classify entries in the event of wrong entry for any class/category. However, after benching in, fish found in the wrong class/category may be disqualified at the discretion of the judges and organisers.

9 Each entry will be housed in a standard which provided by organisers and to be filled with anti-chlorine treated water. Participants may also bring their own water. The water shall be free from any colour.

10 No plant, sands, decorative items etc allowed in the competition tanks.

11 Coloured medications or water conditioners shall not be used. If medications or water conditioners are used, they must be colourless.

12 The organisers will exercise reasonable efforts to look after all entries throughout the duration of the competition. However, the organisers shall not be held responsible for any injury, loss, illness or mortality of entries.

13 Fishes shall not be fed during the competition period.

14 Once the entries are accepted and displayed at the competition site, participants will not be allowed to remove any entries from the tanks.

15 No stickers, labels or other forms of identification (other than those supplied by the organisers) will be allowed on the competition tanks or racks.

16 All entries shall be benched-in at the competition venue on Wednesday, 18th April 2012, from 1pm onwards.

17 In this competition, the following General Judging Criteria will be used:
a. Finnage
b. Colour
c. Form
d. Condition
e. Deportment

18 Judging shall be based on the condition of the fish at the time of judging. The organisers reserve the right to disqualify entries if any of the following is observed: deformed or unhealthy looking fish.

19 Judging shall take place on20 April 2012 by a panel of invited judges. The decision of the judges shall be final and binding and no further correspondence shall be entertained.

20 After the judging is completed and the results posted, any mistakes found should be made known to the organisers immediately. Results are not final and official until posted by the organisers.

21 Participants shall collect their fish from the competition venue in the evening of 22 April 2012, Sunday. The organisers reserve the right to dispose of unclaimed fish in any fashion it sees fit.

22 The organisers shall be the sole authority for the interpretation of these Rules & Regulations. Once a ruling has been determined, the organizers shall not entertain any further disputes on the same matter.

22 April 2012 (Sunday) - Display, prize presentation and benching out.

Sales during Event:
1 Members are allowed to bring their fish for display and sales. BSM will not be responsible for cash and fish placed at our booth.
We advise all members to bring only 20 fish or so and not to hog the limited space.
