QUOTE(ravi9907 @ Apr 17 2012, 04:54 PM) Seriously, proton have to consider the pricing, the new hyundai elantra (avante) is selling in south korea from RM40,000 to RM52,000. If 90% of material is sourced from here, why is proton's price tag from RM60K. Check out this site http://www.automotifme.com/2011-hyundai-el...aavante-review/Cause price of all cars are being jacked up by the govt to protect Proton. So.... why sell Preve for RM40k when there are buyers even if you sell RM72k? Why cut your own profit margin...

Even Proton is charged with 85% tax. without tax the Preve would only cost around RM40k. ANd the new Elantra here is not 40-52k RM

Why cut your own profit margin... thats not true. its up to the dealers what price they want to put on what specs. Evil ones are like T&H RM90k for empty vios with 1 airbag. Good dealers are like Ford with their Fiesta. 85k can get you DSG gearbox, 5 star EuroNCAP safety rating, ABS, TCS, EBD, ESP, EBA and all other weird abbreviations you can throw in. Its up to the dealers really how much profit margin they want to give. a Hyundai Sonata for example, dealers are earning RM80k in terms of profit margin alone per vehicle sold. go figure.
