Why many people are so pessimistic about proton cars?
Proton manufactures cheap cars to suit the many CHEAP MALAYSIANS (not all though) who wants a car but can't afford to pay a lot.

It's good enough that Proton features some safety into the new Preve at its price, packed with some other functions such as traction control and abs.
Proton is actually able to develop a high quality car model as well as Honda or Toyota. But if Proton does that, then there will be complaints by cheapskates that Proton cars are expensive. Proton is trying to help low-incomed Malaysians to own a car, but of course lower price means there will some lacks. NOTE: higher quality = higher production cost = higher selling price

But all in all, you people busy complaining about the car's safety feature, when the basic thing driving skill and to drive safely and cautiously. Being in a BMW or Merc doesn't ensure your safety if you drive too recklessly. Cheers~~ X3

i know why, i know what u're trying to bring up. But, sorry to say this, accident statistics are shown to public to remind them to drive safely, not to say which car manufacturer involves in car crash the most. Please open up your mind a little bit.
And those statistic happen not just because of car safety issue, many Proton car drivers I've seen drive their car like it was an Evo X. That's why.

Hmm.... I feel sad, sometimes enraged with many Malaysians way of driving and attitude. Living in cities but drive like they were somekind of ape people. (forgive me if anyone feel offended) X3.
Even kampung people can drive more respectably.
