Most MMO I played has resumable downloads. Or they have alternatives manual patch to be downloaded. Pso2 is the  worst one I've ever seen. Updates could be big but the patch is only one source. If ur patch fail. It's full length 1.2gb again. It won't resume from where it leftout. This only happens back when we are using 56k connection to patch steam back in the 90s . Now is 2012 lol.. worst of all new players who would want to play pso2, imagine frm new client to current ver. It's 2.5 over gb non resumable patch. Isn't that crazy..
This numbers are gonna add up when more new expansion comes in. Either u know someone who has the game fully updated to be copied to u. Or else after patching, I doubt the player is willing to play anymore.

They always come out with new surprises that made players speechless. Not only the emergency ones, i'm pretty sure some players might have notice that they are making more n more irritating traps to annoy players. Each patches or updates contribute more of these. 3 trials activating on the same time. Avoid, collect n protect.Or double protect n avoid.

Getting updates that big are bound to be corrupted easily. I think it shudnt be 8gb. Should be what marcion say around 12.7gb. If u check the prev update and along with the client itself, it already total up to 10gb above. I have yet to check the folder but i do believe it shud be around there.

U can give a try what Dammitall suggest. If still it doesnt work, ask from someone who is around here. There are actually users who uploaded the full folder online. How reliable these folder are i'm unsure. It might contain hidden keyloggers or trojans.

how did ship 2 and 8 become an english community server?

I'll probably would stick with ship8. its pretty pain in the ass to migrate to ship2. then again I already have a character in ship2 lol
