Hello All,
I just cancelled my 2012 Honda Civic booking and place a RM1000 deposit for the new Mazda CX-5. The spec is quite high, and it is CBU, SUV, new tech, 3 years free maintenance. Below is the spec of the CX-5.
Launching Soon in April New Model 2012
******Mazda CX 5******
* NEW Skyactiv Engine * 2.0cc Petrol with 6 Speed Automatic * 2x4 n 4x4 * Mini SUV * Estimated price around RM165,000 * Fully Imported from Japan * Color: Sky Blue, Zeal Red, Aluminium Metallic, Metropolitan Grey & Crystal White Pearl
Spec: #6 Airbags #Full Leather & Power Adjustment Seat #BOSE Sound System with 9 Speakers & USB #Bi-Xenon Headlamp with auto light functional system (AFS) & Auto Leveling #Sunroof #Bluetooth Handsfree System #DRL (day running light) #Auto Cruiser #Smart Keyless with Push Start Button #Parking Sensor, Reverse Sensor & Reverse Camera #Touch Screen with GPS
I ordered the 2wd one. What is your view on this car?

HONDA CR-V 5sp auto Curd Weight(AWD): 3,545lbs Dimensions(m): L/W/H -> 4.53/1.81/1.65 Engine(base) 2.4L 185hp and 163lbft MPGs with Auto/AWD ->25/30
Mazda CX-5 6sp auto Curd Weight(AWD): ?? Dimensions(m): L/W/H -> 4.53/1.83/1.66 Engine(base) 2.0L 155hp and 150lbft MPGs with Auto/AWD ->25/30
If CX-5 will be much smaller than the upcoming new CRV then I am sure CRV will have the size like X5.
Bufung, have you seen the new CRV? How big is it? Do you have any info about the new CRV size?

QUOTE(pangning @ Apr 5 2012, 12:48 PM) how is it much smaller than crv? i think its quite well specced btw ts from honda civic to mazda cx-5? really? 50k more, small family vs crossover? I booked the 2.0 with navi, Honda said around 135K OTR. But it is still using old 2.0, old 5 speed, only new design like the camry, so I take the CX-5, at least it is all new model, SUV, CBU, full spec, 3 years maintenance.

I think it is a good buy. But the price has not finalized yet, hopefully it will be not more than 160k OTR with insurance.
By looking at new camry and new civic, I think new CRV will be using old engine, old gear box and old spec, maybe throw in some features like navi and reverse camera and sell for 155k.

QUOTE(fred131 @ Apr 6 2012, 01:26 PM) TaiTai29-Have you consider Tucson 2.0 before you place the deposit ? Not interested in Korea cars, I know they have improved a lot but I still prefer Japan car and CBU. I ordered a grey one, 2WD. Added on April 6, 2012, 5:05 pmQUOTE(pana001 @ Apr 6 2012, 03:30 PM) well i think CX5 is still worth to buy if it around 150K. I like the blue % red color Price has not finalised yet, but definitely won't be more than 165k OTR with insurance, that's what they said. Hope they can make it 158k OTR with insurance.
