Hi all, am considering two issues before deciding on CX-5, so to all current owners hope you can share...

1. Lack of rear air con vents -- what's been your experience ? Is the CX5 air con efficient enough to quickly cool those at the back?
2. What's been your typical fuel consumption after a few years ?

From a Australian CX5 forum :

Just read that a replacement 12V car battery
in all CX5's is around $500 !!! Additionally the
new car warranty (on the battery) cuts out after
1 year.... Oh dear Mazda. ref: whrl.pl/RdCKJV posted 2013-Jun-18, 10:36 pm squibcakes Forum Regular The battery in question for a petrol is a Panasonic
55D23L. You can buy these from any battery
dealer for about $150 – or what ever Mazda
wants to charge.... The only hiccup is that iStop will need to be
recalibrated ($70 for Mazda to do it) if you change
the battery your self.

=====

Anybody experienced sourcing the battery externally over here ?

Does the CX5 offer central locking ? As in a button on driver side, and/or auto central locking above certain speed?

Re: 2.5L engine detuned for our Market ... Is that why it's 184hp compared to 192hp seen in Euro specs? If not mistaken even US spec also detuned due to their lower fuel quality?

Anyone driving the 2015 facelift 2.5? Any issues with rattling sound / lower arm bush sound ?

What's the Grade/brand of fully syn oil recommended? Mazda has its own brand or..?

Hi, anyone using CX-5 i-Stop feature? Does it cut off the air con when it activates ? Or air con still running while engine is stopped ?

Just worried after reading some other cars' similar intelligent start stop feature turning off air con in middle of hot day in traffic jam!

During servicing at Mazda centre, which Branch confirmed using only fully syn engine oil?
