Lucifal,

Agree to a certain extend that its pointless comparing the CKD against something that is not available anymore (CBU unit) .IMHO, what some of prospective buyers of CX -5 are cheesed off ( to put it mildly) is that there is only a reduction of approx RM10K for the CKD unit.

Whats the point of reducing the price by RM10K but you are also taking away accessories/features ,namely 19" wheel to 17", no sunroof and no BOSE Sound System that will probably cost RM10K anyway.Just to pick a fight, ask Bermaz to put back all 3 items into the CKD unit and see how much they will charge you?

Where is the savings of the local content, cost of freighting a CBU unit from Japan plus other tax/excise savings?

Cheers.

the factory in japan has higher output volume and most likely higher efficiency too

Hi. I did a little experimenting about the FC and here are my findings, in case you are interested.

I went on the highway and engaged auto-cruise. Note that I have traveled at least 30km to get these readings. Also, my car's mileage is not yet 1000km and has not undergo the first service.

Constant 80km/h with little uphill/downhill - 7.1km/L
Constant 100km/h with little uphill/downhill - 7.8km/L

During normal usage, I frequent LDP during peak hours and the readings are approximately 9.8 to 10.8 km/L.

Hope this is informative. (I'm a little over enthusiastic with the car, please bear with me  notworthy.gif )

Did you get the unit wrong? Are you referring to l/100km?
7-8km/l on highway is totally odd

for the CX-5 to Sportage comparison, remember the CX5 at 144k is a FWD while the Sportage is an AWD

Does the 2wd high spec comes with TPMS and AFS?

ok, it does has the above features
just checked against the official site

just went for test drive
one odd thing that i noticed is the unexpected vibration which was felt, even by the front passenger when the car is stationary and the gear is in D
in addition to that, there's a rather harsh resonating vibration when flooring it above 3000 rpm
i don't expect these in a new car, more so on the first item

not sure if it's because the engine is still tight

you'll need to wax or apply sealant
that way the dirt should wash off with less effort
