Im comparing both as i am considering both these models (together with a few others). Toyota's and Honda's are out of my list so i wont bother bout them. But putting aside segment preferences, would you choose a CX5 over an Optima considering specs, handling, after sales service, price, value for money, design, etc?
*
i am also at the same cross road considering both are price quite close to each other...

Hi all.. .
Today officially registered as a member of this forum.. .
And oso one of the Mazdaassss.. .

Feedback on CX5.
- Just got my unit this evening at 6.30pm.
- Sadly no full tank for me.
- Anyway can drove this car back home was a nicest feeling ever.
- Very good handling after cruising more than 100km (approximately 137km).
- Full tank of MYR105 (including the existing 2 bar on delivery time).
- Arrived home with no sweats (110km/h), no reduce bar on the fuel indicator.
- Early morning will check again drop by how many bar.
- Very quiet inside till like cant hear modified saga's exhaust behind me.
- Best experience:
1) The rear view mirror really gave good response to supersede incoming car with a noisy llight.
2) Got shocked with the amazing tyre-reaction moveable lamp (dont really know this technology was actually installed).
3) Thanks to the 19" inch toyo, its just right riding the challenging karak highway.
4) Very responsive handling.
5) A lot to says, its too early to put feedback anyway.....

Sorry for my English.. .
This CX5 2WD its just right for me.. .

did you mean that the CX5 comes with bending lights? lights turn to direction of steering for illumination?

Easy, ask themto provide u the duty paid form from the custom. Chek the engine and chassis no. Against the unit allocated to you.  Your sa is behaving like  those potong sa in the old old days. The only thing worth to wait is Hermes birkin bag. Lol.

Fully agree with this statement regarding Mazda SA lately..

Really pissing me off!!!!

not sure if the vehicle setting still accesible only at Head unit like the CBU.

If yes, likely you cant change aftermarket player, unless you are willing to sacrifice the functionalities...

QUOTE(IzZzY @ Jun 9 2013, 07:39 PM)
I went to test drive the CKD today, and tried to get clarification on some things:
Spare tire was there.
I counted 7 speakers, one in each door and 3 in front. But I think the SA mentioned that two of them where something else than speakers. I honestly have no idea about anything when it comes to those things. The are made by Panasonic.
No Tribos coating, as already mentioned in the thread.
The cars coming first are indeed only white and aluminium, and blue would probably be ready in July.

What I noticed was two things they had added to the CKD. Firstly a button to lock all door on the side of the steering wheel, and secondly when opening the door there was a new protection plate under the door. I do wonder why they didn't just add a auto lock instead of a new button, since they obviously noticed that there was something missing there. To adjust the seat really takes some time. Being a tall Mat Salleh, it took me a minute to get into a decent position, (as opposed to a couple of seconds when it's manual) so I will likely be a little bit annoyed over that fact every time my dear wife uses the car.  I did like the drive however, noticed no difference from the CBU. I might even start to enjoy driving back to my wives hometown in Kelantan, if I'm behind the wheel of this car.  thumbup.gif

those who gottent their CKD, can share some pic on the button lock and protection plate?

Saw the new Mazda 3, darn nice!!! Check it out from paultan website.
Felt CX 5 is equipped with lower spec accessories.
*
That is the full specs Mazda3.

The full specs CX5 are no less than Mazda 3 except for the HUD.

Too bad we are in Bolehland. Thus, we get only the stripped down version. Believe would be the same for Mazda3 later on...

Hope i am wrong though...

do you mean turning the display off?

I dont think mine can either...

It seems to me, to turn off the display, we need to go to Setup > Display off

not sure either if this is how it suppose to work though. the player will auto turn on by default when we on the ignition.

So Maxspeed is the dealer and Sun Lun is the service centre which actually services other brands?

I saw the Hyundai building and it's nice! I thought Hyundai cars are serviced there......  hmm.gif

Anyway, until Mazda have a 3S centre, it's a minus point to buy Mazda cars in Sibu in terms of service centre...... again, because I'm so used to the Honda 3S centre....
*
To be frank, being also a Honda owner, mazda3s still has a very long way to go to catch up ....

At this point of time, don't think you will have anymore luck. The last batch of cbu was delivered last month June.

Unless you are real lucky.
