Is the car ride is really harsh and bumpy or is it the 19" that is causing it. I find it a pain to ride in the back of the car.

read from other forum mentioned that tire pressure must be released before handing-over to customer. Some cases where SA forget to do that. High tire pressure is for shipping purposes.

I dont like the Mazda logo. But this CX-5 seems like just a great car... in terms of design, fuel economy, safety.(on the paper stuff looks great)

As for handling, performance, comfort... still donnu leh.

What you guys say? is it noisy?
*
no issue with performance on highway except combination of high-speed & steep slope (classic example, karak highway). read somewhere that AT has 10k++ preset combination; but still not sufficient. gear is reluctant to downshift. at high-speed, engine noise is acceptable but road noise is significant. handling is good but have to let go a bit comfort (esp rough hump).

Hi guys,

According to the review, the CX5 from 0-100 km/h Acceleration: 9.4 seconds.

That's a very impressive for SUV in this range, however i don't have a chance to test it & i know we wouldn't make it @ 9.4s, what i want to say is i feel this car is under power, doesn't sound like under 10s category.
please share yours.

thanks
i wouldn't say under-power. it is the combination of gears+rpm+loading+ascending/decending factors.
on hilly expressway like karak highway, once awhile you will find the gear doesn't want to shift down.
on flat highway like kesas, you can try the 0-100 right after toll. you'll be amazed shocking.gif.

After half a year of waiting, I've finally taken delivery of my brand new 2WD Aluminum Metallic CX-5. The car is <80KM and it drives absolutely like CRAP.

I was not surprised as I've tested this car in many different mileage, as a matter of fact in more than 1 country as well. The brand new non-broken in engine, n00bie ECU driving pattern is extremely conservative as many reviews have noted...which I believe are based on brand new car. The transmission up shifts very quickly and quietly to 3/4th gear. Once there, the car loses pick up and barely moves. Hence many complaint that it's underpowered. However, I knew that's not true as I've tested broken in units before with over 4-6k KM on them.

Looks like sensei has gotta tech the car how to drive these few months .

PS: First day traffic jam like hell. Drove the car all the way from Gombak back to KL and it capped 10.xL/100KM. Excellent mileage for a car of this size. The E200 Kompressor at home does 13L+

Pretty sly of the dealer I dealt with. Waited for 5 months without any news or update from dealer. ONLY when I threaten to cancel order, they said that my car is READY for collection!!!

Really fishy. Still, I cancelled it as I was really disappointed with the service rendered. I was wondering - if the service is like this before the sale took place, how's the AFTER-SALE service???

CX-5 could be the best car in the world, but what a waste since sales is undertaken by morons!
*
sorry to hear that.
i belief this is just a few isolated cases. many of us here get they car.
for instance i made my booking in early april and got my car in may.
the after sale service i got is good in bad-medium-good rating.
just my personal opinion.
thanks...

I got to know that the CX 5 is not really a CKD but a SKD which means the whole car is assemble in Japan and only the fitment of wheels or sound unit or some small parts. This is basically for tax purposes. It is the same as Passat CKD. True CKD is like Honda, Toyota and possibly Nissan which are able to sell by ton loads.

Business sense speaking, it is not economical of scale to produce a car probably with 2000 - 3000 a year. Just the tooling cost itself is high.

With the major work done in Japan, i think the quality will still be there. I am not a Bermaz employee so i am writing based on the information i received.
*
if just for local market, ckd may not viable. how about for export? Geographically, it makes sense that Vladivostok plant for europe market, hiroshima plant for japan and us, and malaysia plant ( thumbup.gif ) for asia-pacific market. just my opinion.

they are starting to become arrogant and cash in on the buyer side as they realise the car is popular... standard protocol. The salesman so arrogant when i view the car, no test drive, with the attitude of you want you come, you dont want fuxk off... Really disappointed.
*
may be just a specific case. the word 'they' that you had used might give other good salesmen a bad name.
