The difference between the CBU version and the current CKD version is:

1) No BOSE sound system
2) No sunroof
3) 19 inch rims downsized to 17inch

These ommisions have a significant cost impact but there is only a RM6K reduction in prices?? Bermaz is trying to screw the Malaysian public again by promoting a cheaper CKD car but removing far more accessories than the reduction of the overall price.

With these ommisions, getting the CBU would be far more beneficial from a cost point of view. The CKD is a real rip off and someone who doesnt know anything about how much these ommisions cost, will actually be fooled into thinking he/she is getting a good deal.

Just look at what they did with the Mazda 6. Crazy pricing for a 2.0L at 160K and 2.5L at 190K. The 2.0L model was supposed to be the bread and butter model and yet with this crazy pricing , do you really think it will sell enough to even come close to the Camry sales? Look at the 2.5V model. Comes with supposedly high end specs like I-Stop, Smart City Brake, etc but when u actually test drive the car ull realise that these systems although good on paper but in reality is so different to similar systems on other cars. The 2.5L model is so sluggish compared to the Camry and Teana 2.5L. And yet trying to price it near the 200K benchmark.

Typical Bermaz! Great cars, great ideas but always screwed up by their pricing. vmad.gif

same thing like Peugeot, CKD in Gurun Kedah, but still above 100k for the lowest model...

if its ranged around that, will have more competiton from :

1. Pug 3008
2. Subaru VX
3. Sportage/Tucson
4. Sorento, pre face lift reduced price.

Got advice from a fam friend, he drive the Mazda 8 and 6, to go to Ampang branch showroom.. will do this weekend and hope will get a better treatment overthere..

i am not trying to say mazda is not good or what, infact i love the cx5 alot. But the problem of not having a test drive unless you pay 1k deposit which is fully refundable is lame. We are buying a 150k car. I feel like throwing 1000stacks of 1 dollar note just to show him i am not happy. their attitude is really...but otherwise its a really great car, if i have the chance to test drive the car, i would have already gotten the car now. really disappointed. And btw, my location is in JB, which dealer i wont disclose.
*
Only 2 available at jb. One at plentong. One at taman sutera utama. I think both of them practise the same thing. Im quite surprice that u need to put downpayment in order to test drive. A lot of bermaz dealer in klang valley are offering for free.

ya, i remember buying iswara aeroback my first car then, waiting period 6-8 months, but if pay RM3k, can shorten to 2-3 months but cannot choose colour. And then when news about Tiara launching came out, was approached by middleman claimed to have closed contact in EON to pay RM1.4k to book 2-5 cars so later can re-sell the "bookings" to others for higher amount. I only asked, if got so good lobang why dun you keep to yourself hmm.gif ?

If you talking about mileage, CX-5 is the best of its class as for now. A full tank (~50L) can get 550KM for city driving and 700KM for highway driving.

3008 is crossover and using turbo engine while CX-5 is 2.0 NA compact SUV. Two different class and different type of engine. If you more punch, get the turbo engine and if you want more engaging and fun driving, get the CX-5.

Thanks for the info. Seems like 3008 packs a bigger punch and cost less.
