Vios and City no need to check... confirmed CKD doh.gif

for any other cars... just look at the price of the same model... CKD's usually a few thousand cheaper than CBU...

CKD - Completely Knock Down means it comes in parts and are assembled locally

CBU - Completely Build Unit means imported fully assembled

Most likely the parts factory in TH flooded so local assemblers can't assemble it.

Doesnt seems like a fool-proof method..They can just put higher price and then offer "discounts"..

take a look at the geran, at the part of "KEGUNAAN PEJABAT" there will be stated "PEMASANGAN TEMPATAN" if it is CKD.

nope... VW Passat is only a 10k cheaper CKD in DRB-Hicom...
same with Mazda 3, Berjaya CKD only around 10k cheaper also...

motor industry is gahmen controlled... no dealer is dumb enough to sell CKD cars at CBU prices and name it CBU doh.gif

Why don't you wait for the new proton? 72k max and performance wise as good as Civic, if they get the build quality right this time, Vios/City is no fight.

P.S. the new city/vios build quality not that good either. the interior door kinda plastic feel.

We are comparing price vs performance. I DID mentioned about the build quality no? Read back my post.

Don't overhype with what H/T is, U never been into the local plant, they are no difference between them and Proton, especially foe Vios and City that was build to fight the SEAsia market.

unless you are going back to the CBU talk.

IMHO Proton is catching up.

same situation here. I am also shopping for a under 90k car.

what caught my eye now is actually pickups. Mitsubishi triton to be exact.
rugged, easy to drive, easy to bully tongue.gif, and its only rm6xk
9 years should be no problem.

if foreign sedan, i would go for toyota J spec. cheapest with least amount of thing to play with.
for local sedan, really should wait for the p3

plus shoudl be the same
http://plus.com.my/index.php?id=vehicle_classes

penang bridge is a bit tricky. its not a lorry or van.
perhaps categorized under stationwagon. my penang friend has no issue though.
but my KL colleague got flagged and ask to pay for the van rate.
http://penangbridge.com.my/bridgefare.php

maintenance wise, no different from sedan cars.

Quote directly from him,
"(Road tax)almost RM900. One biji tayar around RM500 - RM800 depending on your capability. Engine oil need two bottle. Got more different oils compared to your normal car. Major service can cost thousands and thousands. Normal service approx RM200++"
