sunday morning, my uncle's kelisa got small crack and yesterday morning at 11 a.m. i went to dr. cermin jalan tebrau, jb to repair. repair quality quite ok lah since there is no perfect repair. but a few hours later, at around 3 p.m. after driving around, the repair area got trapped bubble. went back to dr. cermin to complain abit since the trapped bubble can be repaired and cause by his human error. later the technician keep denying, said that trapped bubble are normal, but for me it actually is really an eyesore. i told him im even willing to pay extra for him to drill a small hole to release the bubble and he can just simply drop a few of the resin and everything will be just fine.

15 minutes gone, he still keep deny his fault and told me the crack will never get worse. i told him i know that, but my problem is the bubble and i want it gone. so im frustated and lazy to take things longer, i went home and decided that today morning, i want to go to dr. cermin headquarters in skudai, jb and complain.

today afternoon, got to the dr. cermin headquaters and met with main boss, mr. mark(?) and told him about my complain. it wasn't unexpected, but then he also said the same thing, the bubble cannot be repaired, just let it be, cannot guarantee, etc. it wasn't a fight or anything, we talked quite calm and he told me, such work has no guarantees. i told him back that, it was human error so at least within 1 or 2 days, he should be able to do something about it. im a customer, im not saying that im always right but he must provide service as best as possible, not just deny. i even told him that if it is a hassle, im willing to pay for it but he keep denying everything.

so tomorrow, im going scouting around jb area to find a shop other than dr. cermin branch that can do the bubble repair. i have googled around and the trapped bubble issue is really something very easy to fix; drill a very small hole to reach the bubble area, clean abit with cotton bud and then just drop a couple of the repair resin and in a few minutes, it hardens and can be polish for best results.

im really disappointed with dr. cermin service, im asking for a little after-sales service, within a few hours, that im even willing to pay for. it was an easy matter, they only keep denying. really unprofessional despite they always tell people they got iso certification, many branches etc.

so anyone know where in jb i can get windscreen repair other than dr. cermin branches, please chip in. thanks.

sorry to hear your problem. I never trusted DR cermin as their main job (initial) was to repair cracks on windscreen, not replacing it. Though their business expanded now that doesn't mean I am convinced by their services/skill set.

Anyway, I guessed most repairer are the same - after sales/claim service is not that good. My case was my windscreen replaced but is blurred during rain time. Asked for assistance but the repairer said it's the weather/rain causing it, or original windscreen is like that etc etc all the BS!

If you want to play safe, then go back to your car manufacturer. At least you can squeeze them if things doesn't go right.

thanks TripleJ104. following your recommendation, i went to Dr. Cermin Johor Jaya and asked for 'Panjang'. he is still there, slim person, wears a cap and specs. told him my story and he immediately said he will try to settle the problem since he knows that the other branches now employ new amateur technicians without proper skills and they were supposed to settle the problem as after-sales service. he said he never encountered such problem before but he believed that it can be done simply be drilling a bit the bubble and just put back resin and let dry.

so after drilling, putting resin and letting it dry, the bubble was still there, so he repeated everything for FIVE TIMES, then only was the bubble gone. i was initially happy but not too convinced since i thought if i drive under the sun after that, the resin will dry properly and bubble might still happen. panjang said no need for payment, its just after-sales service on his part and it was a small matter. he is truly a helpful and professional man. he did everything 6 times and charged nothing. really grateful for that.

bad thing now is, as i thought, after a few hours under direct sunlight, the bubble is back. and there are two of them now. doh.gif
