I think got preview right? Last time i use got. Have not use checkrom for quite sometime.

Jkay only change status bar and notification. Those kitchen themes change alot more, TW, contact, phone, messaging, system, etc.. so their size is a lot bigger.
*
oh...just found out after choose a theme in kitchen pro, at the install page, got a link to xda, i think the preview is shown there.
thanks! really liking checkrom alot. my rom hopping may finally come to an end (hopefully)

jkay is more like a mode. themes usually got big files cause contain a lot of added graphic, customized apps etc. try this for CRHD:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...ighlight=monkey

or just browse from the xda i9100 theme section.
*
holly cow! that link is like a theme paradise!!
thank you so much notworthy.gif

just one quick question, are those themes easily changable like go launcher themes?
or those are flash type?, once flash and no turning back to original (unless use cmw restore)

oh right, most importantly of all, support swipe notification right?

hei guys,

i found out something new today. :-D

my phone was connected via usb mass storage to the pc.
then i got a call. a unknown ring tone rang. made me though its not my phone. so silly.

i figured how to solve this. i copy my ring tone to
/system/media/audio/ringtone

now its in system file, when connecting in USB mode also will have the ring tone. yeah...

Why don't try checkROM v6? Better customisation compare with litening
*
Yes I agree. I just move from litening 2.6 to check rom. More features.

i learn something new today.

my PC google calender, i got subscribe to malaysia holiday calender.
so basically, if got any holiday due to festival or agong birthday, will appear in my google calender in another color.

but it doesn show on my android google calender.
i just figured out how to make it show. after an hour of google.
lots of people having this issue as well.

the answer is abit weird. just download any 3rd party calender app.
for example "business calender free" from play shop.

launch and choose which calender from your gmail acount to show.
after than can delete the app.

go back ori google calender, choose calender, will have new option malaysia holiday for selection :-)

weird fix, but it works. :-)

Any one of you have a portable charger from Mili called "Power Star"?
http://www.iphonemili.com/products_detail/...1553918454.html

according to the official Mili page, the size of power star should be:
Product measurements: 65*122*15mm
6.5cm*12.2cm*1.5cm

i bought mine from lowyat garage sales here:
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...9&hl=power+star

but as you can see, the one i bought is just
5.4cm*10.0cm*1.1cm

i dont mind the size difference, but the capacity seems to be fake.
for a 2000mAh battery, how come only can charge my S2 battery from 30% to 79%? after that it went completely out of juice. is this normal?
i bought it on 12th Jan, just 3 months old, seldom use it also. 3 times already from full charge only can charge about 50% of my s2.

do you guys use portable charger from other brand?
is this the normal performance of a 2000mAh charger?
i worry i might get conned.

if you follow according to rating should have let u charge s2 for 1 time only
Ori capacity is 1650mah so it's just about 1.3time for s2 if follow directly to the specification
but may vary

for me i'm using yoobao 11200mah can charge upto 5 times
*
hmm.gif hm...means the rating is not that accurate one la.
but 2000mAh just to charge 49% is quite bad....

your 5 times is from 0 -100%?
if so the efficiency is just (8*1650)/(11200) = 73%

but the pros of this power star is no cables involve.
the cable to charge itself and charge other device is all built in, very convenient.

haiz. i looking to buy another one for gf.

check mipow, yoobao, and mili.
power star is the only one that can operate without cables
too bad the capacity so low. sad.gif

what you mean by without cable?

http://technoodling.net/mili-power-star-review-2/
see this review, the cables are built in.
if wana bring around, you'll be bringing just the small box.

imagine if other chargers.
you need to bring the charger + cables + adapter head.
all these need to put in a small bag and carry around. troublesome.

Depends how you look at it. My Yoobao 4400mah is physically smaller than Mili 2000mah yet packed with more juice. The cable is short and negligible. You can charge with Usb port without adapter too but we all know that charging with Usb takes longer time. The Yoobao 4400mah can easily charge SGS2 from 0-100% up to 2 or 2.5 times.
*
the yoobao 4400 is physically bigger than power star.
my sister have yoobao 4400 and the 6800 one.
their capacity is really good.

but power star is really compact and easy to bring around. no cables required.
in the same jeans pocket can fit s2 and power star no problem. its thin and flat.

yoo bao no way can fit in pocket :-(
but power star capacity so bad.

seem like cant have best of both worlds.
need do some thinking before decide.

Just saw a video about a fully jail broken iPhone.
I didnt know iPhone can be so cool. Kinda feel like it just went super saiyan mode.

Good thing android can already do most of the things shown in the video now,
But the one in the video are really smooth, especially the notification bar.

Still love android though, but if ios6 include all those features, then android won't have many things to boast about over the iPhone.

The app is called 'toggle 2g', and it was a question to see if anyone uses this app on their S2 tongue.gif
*
Actually I just set mine to use 2g all the time, I mean edge connection.
And toggle it on / off using jkmod , either in 2g mode or offline mode.

If I'm not mistaken, keep toggle 2g and 3g may waste more batt.
Cos when I change 2g to 3g, I notice the phone lags a bit, it seems to disconnect current signal, and reconnect again.
Go settings, under wireless n network, change from GSM only to wcdma only, you'll see what I mean.
Signal drop to zero, then reconnect back.

This is just based on my guess. No source. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah, actually, even from the 1st Generation iPhone, all the theming and tweaking were already possible. Nothing much to shout about actually. A lot of it are just superficial tweaks.

Android still has many advantages, and the Play Store apps are catching up to the App Store's very quickly. Re: Android advantages other than changing themes, it's been gone through thousands of times before, so I won't bother elaborating.

One thing you should be wary of when going 2G only. When your phone is using EDGE, you won't be able to receive calls. For a phone like mine which is always drawing data from Whatsapp, Facebook etc, that's a very big deal.

I've missed a lot of calls without knowing until DIGI sent me a "missed calls" SMS. It was then that I realized this problem. It's not a problem with Samsung, it's the network's problem. I've tried with DIGI, Maxis and Celcom and also with other phones like iPhone, same thing.

So I'd still recommend leaving 3G on. Unless of course, you don't get a lot of incoming calls, in which case, it probably shouldn't matter. Just a heads up.
*
Really? Din notice this at all. Thanks for sharing.
I don't have data plan. I only on my 2g when I wan to send and receive mms.
So most of the time its off.

Added on April 10, 2012, 12:59 amI just figured out the BLN means back light notification, I saw this in check rom kitchen.
That's great to have, means the soft keys will shine if got miss call or message right?

Love to try it, but it says support certain kernals only.
I am using the original kernal from check rom. Din change any kernal. The check rom ori kernal support BLN or not? This is a super useful feature to have. Even my old Nokia x6 got this, miss this feature a lot,

Bro., just buy another spare battery and it will make your world much more easier. No need to worry about need to toggle this and that just to save battery juice. Use the phone to its fullest. Enjoy it by not restrict it.
*
what's with you and the ics anticipators, just let them wait and wish la. dun tease them, kesian them. haha...

actually i do have a spare battery, and a portable charger.
but dont waste battery for no reason lo, can save then save lo. haha :-)

now about BLN, back light notification in checkrom kitchen,
it is worth/safe to use? hows the impact on battery life?

Correct me if i am wrong, but if you did not notice the BLN, the device will be kept awake and suck more juice. If you saw the notification and took care of it then ok.
*
yes, this is what i was wondering. whether it prevent the phone from goin to sleep. if it does, then really no point having this. battery life is priority one.

what about galaxy nexus, they have blinking LED notification also. cause wake locks?
seems you sifus also never tried this BLN on s2, i better not try also.

lately busy life and need my phone for real phone usage. cant afford to have any issues.

If I'm not mistaken the original Samsung 2kmAh battery only costs RM130, no?  hmm.gif
*
You are right. I got conned since I bought that battery on august. That time no official battery yet.
The seller claims its original. But it really isn't, battery life is half of original.
And charge me so exp. What's even more puzzled is that shop renovated and became Sep.

Seriously dishonest people. My friend bought galaxy w there, paid rm100 for a 8gb member card.
I told her she got con, 8gb where got so expensive. But she say never mind, its Sep and ori. doh.gif
I never buy things from mines again.
You know the screen protector there, clear matte diamond, price is 15,20.50 the last I went to check,
In connought pasar malam, just 5,8,12 for the same thing. Those bloody con cyndicate.

Another case is when I wana buy galaxy tab wifi version, went shop by shop to survey. They gave me a old set wrap in plastic, tell me is ori. Even a fool also know its not new. Also dun have box, just give me like that expect me buy. Crazy. So I went to another shop. That fella say got stock, went out very long, and return showing me the exact same tab wrap in plastic without box with some dust on it already. It was then I realised there is really just one shop. All the people working with same boss one. Terrible place.

Even my current s2 that I'm using now, when I buy the box already opened. And I check warantee by SMS say not registered. Maybe mine is ap set.sigh....sorry for the long rant. But I really hate those sellers in mines. Con me so many times.

I don't know but I usually buy from trusted Lowyat.NET forumers, guarantee original and lowest price.  biggrin.gif
And, next time better do better survey before buying. Might as well check the prices online and make judgement yourself.
*
Yes, I learned my lesson. Lately I buy accersories from lowyat also. Cheaper n fast. Straight deliver to house.
Also if want to buy phone, buy from send heng, courts, sen q better. Ensure get new set in sealed box. Unlike those in mines.
Accessories should buy from lowyat.

Still can't believe got idiot buy 8gb memory card for rm100. Kesian.....
Since phone price is fixed by rrp, the only way they con is by raising price of accessories.

Anyone having a little issue with their wifi? My phone when I turn it on, it doesn't want to turn on. The wifi picture shows a dim green light. I've gotta restart my phone then it'll be okay. It's becoming very frequent :/ Am running official ICS.
*
This happens to me too during official ics.
Happens very frequent. No hope unless reboot. Frustrating problem.

Flashed litening rom, still got this prob, but much less compared to official ics.
Probably a bug in official ics, since litening is based on official ics,

Anyway now on checkrom v6, everything perfect fast and fine:-)
Super stable and no app compatibility issue, or wifi problem
And most importantly So happy with jkay mod. I don't think I can ever live without it.

how do i restore wifi access point from GB to ICS rom?
i use wifi key recovery only have option to export but not import?

i backup bcm_supp.conf which contain all information on access point from GB
but in ics it's save in wpa_supplicant.conf

i tried copy the contect directly to wpa_supplicant.conf end up my wifi not functioning

so how am i suppose to do to recover all the access point from GB to ICS?

Use titanium backup, under system, choose wifi access point.
