QUOTE(ellimist @ Apr 23 2012, 07:58 AM) Hey guys with Siyah, I didn't follow last night, but you might wanna hold on to flashing kernel updates. Apparently something is causing phones to brick, some people can't even go into download mode. Could be the repacked rc6 (which now seems to be removed on his blog), or could be the new 3.1. Can't be too sure since his thread moves quite fast Edit : Seems like could be latest rc6 that he removed, as well as moving from rc6 to 3.1. Some people recommend doing it via Odin instead (someone who did via CWM got stuck at samsung screen) QUOTE(antt00 @ Apr 23 2012, 08:34 AM) Yeah the one bricking devices is the one with camera FC. lol you two ah, scare me for awhile, just 10 mins before ellmist post i went flash siyah 3.1 with cwm Added on April 23, 2012, 8:36 am Yeah you can use mobile odin or cwm manager. These apps just need root and does not go through recovery. QUOTE(river.sand @ Apr 23 2012, 08:40 AM) Wanna know: Do you use screen protector on your S2? hello, gorilla glass is at 9 in the Moh's Scale. and also check dictionary the difference between resistant and proofS2's display is protected with Gorilla Glass. QUOTE(xxx2299 @ Apr 23 2012, 06:44 PM) I plan to get my first smartphone, and narrowed down to SGS2. get a non-g. nuff said. if u insist for a g version, then the ts 1wildcat1 would be ur best friend to ask for advice on how to tackle itBut, I got very confused on rooting, using different ROM. I want to use the phone for some basic function+take picture/video+surf net, and not going to play games. So, I think stock ROM would be fine for me. I am planing to get the G version. I would like to know what are the remaining problems/bugs that are not fixed yet using stock ROM? I read that the clock speed back to 1.2GHz and battery life better than non-G. Is the phone hanging issue still present? Thanks in advance. Added on April 23, 2012, 6:54 pm QUOTE(antt00 @ Apr 23 2012, 06:52 PM) eh? i tot a jig is supposed to fix a hardbrick, not meh?
