i am confused with all sorts of material used for cabinets.
can anyone please explain to me how to differentiate these ? (in terms of grade, toughness, price ...)

I am not expert and I just follow what the market trend and most people done...melamine is widely used and of course I am using it too...but I been scolded by my family because they expect me to use solid wood...

limited budget - all material is similiar (it really depends on how you use it ie: gentle or rough) unlimited budget - solid wood, engineered hardwood, good hinges, soft closure and etc (it also depends on how you use it ie: gentle or rough) |
