Does anyone managed to setup "Wake On Lan" service on the DIR-615 router which come with UNIFI?

From the LAN, i able to "WOL" my pc with another pc, but it failed with WAN

In the port forwarding page, i managed to setup to forward the port number "7" and "9" to "192.168.0.255", the WOL still seems not working.

Besides that, i found this link from ftp://dlink.com.sg/Test/WOL/DIR-615%20WOL.pdf

Configured with the same settings still not working, suspecting is because of this is the "custom firmware"

Any suggestion? Thanks.

I did have the same problem trying to configure DIR-615 for WOL. It just refuse to work. So I bought TP-Link TL-WR1043ND, install OpenWRT, install luci-app-wol package, and setup dyndns for my Unifi.

After that, every time I want to do WOL, I will login into my router and do it. I can ssh or open the router web interface, and do WOL from there.

hi suri,
thanks for your reply.

i did consider of change the router and flash the firmware to OpenWRT, but if do so will cause the Unifi HyppTv no longer functioning, right?

i can make it work on WAN, u have to go to network adapter -> Properties -> Configure -> Advance -> *Each NIC have different property, but try searching for smtg that in the line of wake up on exact pattern/magic packet/smtg and set to disable*

the downside of this is, PC will wake up on ANY packet sent, may wake up unintentionally. on the bright side, save time/money to buy new router/ firm upgrade

This may be old thread but I thought I might share a bit.
Maybe could help others.

I got WOL and WOL-WAN working with the D-Link DIR-615

Just like others I could do it within the same network but the when on other network it not working.

After a bit of googling, I saw that Tp-Link needed ip/machine binding or something for it to work over wan.

But now dir-615 does not have ip/machine binding nor virtual servers.

Ok so what I did was simply add my machine number, ip and port to advanced >> filter rules and allow it. and boo ya.. it worked.

may be this help those who want wakeup over lan over wan for the dir-615.

if need the complete guide then just pm me. Maybe I will post it.

IMHO, the dir-615 is not that bad considering the price and value.
I got it free with my unifi and I feel it is a good router albeit the new ones that is given is even worst.

Good day.

He's not online for half year. Who knows maybe already dead.

You can try PM him. If he still using the same email that he use in LYN, then he'll receive email about the PM. Assuming he didn't change the default setting.
