In actual there are no English tea, none at all. There are British makers and most of the tea leaves are grown here in Malaysia, Ceylon and India. It is the blend and the region. Earl Grey is actually premium tea leaves with a citrus flavour (bergamot), Darjeeling tea, breakfast tea are also called english tea. British branded means English tea. laugh.gif Those flavoured tea made by Boh is actually not bad, don't judge by the brand.

I am from CH and I can attest that those tea leaves I bought from CH tasted better than those found on the shelves in the supermarkets here. I don't know why, maybe the freshness or a different grade but the packing and weight is the same. If my daughter visits her BF or I visit CH, I will definitely buy a fresh pack. I drink almost 2 to 3 liters of tea a day, so I know. icon_rolleyes.gif

Added on April 2, 2012, 11:28 amInstead of English tea, should named it as Celylonish or Tea other than Chinese tea bcos the existing Tea thread concentrate mostly on Chinese tea although originally it's for all types haha

Normally English tongue = Ceylonese tea lor.

Lipton is not from CH-lah, In CH only 3 major tea plantations/producers i.e Boh, Bharat & Blue Valley. Boh is more famous but they also started to import their tea already.

I find Lipton with their mixed tea bags still the best comparing to those from CH..well my personal taste. haha

But the best tea I ever tasted was from a small retro hainanese coffee shop in M'cca - (Closed liao). their tea dust was a mixed of atleast 6 tea dust from Ceylon, Darjeeling & even local brand.. The aroma..walao eh..still kenot get this till Today...haizzz

As I told, you, Till now, I still can't find any kopitiam that served real blended tean dust from diff countries like what I experienced 2 decades ago in one Hainanese kopitiam. The best right now still the simple - Lipton teabg.. much better than Boh, Bharat, Dilmah or even twinning biggrin.gif ..cheap sumore
