my ultimate dream in ICE is pretty 'SIMPLE'... if $$ no objection, just get a Lexus LS460 with Mark Levinson Reference Surround system... freaking 19 speakers man.....

"Designed exclusively for Lexus, the available Mark Levinson surround systems deliver an audiophile experience that more closely resembles a concert hall than an automobile. Each system is carefully designed using multiple speakers located strategically throughout the cabin ensuring that EVERY SEAT enjoys an optimum audio experience.

The Mark Levinson Reference Surround system available in the LS and LX models features a class-leading 19-speakers, 7.1-channel architecture, a 15-channel 450 watt amplifier (all channels driven, 20Hz-20kHz @ less than 0.1% THD) and a six-disc, in-dash DVD/CD player with DVD-Audio, Dolby® Digital and DTS® Digital Surround sound. Audiophiles will be thrilled with the low-distortion sound quality that envelops passengers in the harmonic richness and dynamic musicality of a live concert."

hi sifus, i need some advice.. i seem to like a bit of rear fill in my car as it sounded more 'complete' to my ears. may i know wad's d best cut off frequency for rear fill? 5kHz?? i read somewhere tat too much highs at d rear is not a good idea...

wad i'm using now is front components powered by amp plus coaxial 3-way speaker at d rear shelve powered by HU. initially i dont like d sound as d highs r coming from all over. i tried to fade it to d front or completely turned off d rear but it sounded 'hollow somewhere' (i dunno how to describe....it just sounded weird).... thus i experimented by disconnecting d small wires to d coaxial tweeters at d rear n d overall sound is much better. am i doing the right thing?

also would like to know if there's difference where d location of rear speakers are. it seems tat most japanese cars hv their rear speakers at d doors while Protons still hv theirs on rear shelves. does it makes a lot of difference?? thanks!

fren, the "complete" you mean are actually because u lack of sub bass....add in a sub will be the real deal....ur rear spk are giving u the echoed bass and u might think it's more complete as it generate a better ambience to ur car by the echoed bass, by getting a sub u will eliminate this problem and have a beautiful front stage with lotsa nice ambience...on 15th, i and a few elantra owner had been playing with component, amp and sub for a few hours...after the sub come in, you will totally forget about the rear fill and concentrade on the front nice staging
