QUOTE(MyWifeCar @ Mar 17 2014, 08:40 AM) Best for it's price thing is very subjective. The cheapest 1-din range you can get, I think is around RM300~RM400. Brand=Alpine, Pioneer, Kenwood, Blaupunkt, JVC etc... No SONY. Would normally suggest Alpine or Pioneer. But if there is anything that you find more interesting with USB/Aux, then just go for it. looking for 2 din as i don't want extra gaps after removing the original player. below 1k? and another below 2k?

QUOTE(MyWifeCar @ Mar 17 2014, 01:26 PM) Gap???? Normally shop will be able to deal with that issue easily. Your requirement is not hard to meet, just go for Alpine or Pioneer for 2-Din if you want to. Latio do not require extra bracket for fitting in after-market HU. Just remove the old HU, and put in the new only only. Mine is just nice, no gap also. yours is double din or single? single would work already? sorry man I tried to do some research but I dont know what are they talking about

QUOTE(MyWifeCar @ Mar 17 2014, 03:32 PM) Was single Din, then now double din. All no gap issue. what is the difference between single and double din in terms of sound quality? which one would you recommend?

QUOTE(MyWifeCar @ Mar 17 2014, 06:52 PM) People go for 2-Din because of the features and also watch DVD. 1-Din have some very very good HU for pure sound. If you are into "Sound Quality" then 1-DIN, you won't go wrong. But looking at your requirement, RM300~RM400 1-Din HU would suit you just nice. I recommend = Buy 1 that have the features you need and suit your pocket. Just don't buy something for features that you would rarely use. so any single din would do la? no specific brand or model to look into or avoid?

QUOTE(MyWifeCar @ Mar 19 2014, 07:13 PM) I have no idea on the amp. But the JBL speakers is like asking Seb Vettel to drive a Kancil, and race in F1... Of course Vettel is referring to the HU. i incuded the jbl in the list as it is the best bang for its buck for only usd 180ish. good reviews everywhere saying that it is a decent speaker so i was wondering why not? what do you recommend then?

QUOTE(MyWifeCar @ Mar 19 2014, 07:55 PM) I can roughly recommend based on your budget. But I still have no idea how much you willing to spend.... If what you want is only USB and AUX, then just change a HU will do. I wouldn't recommend you to do all in one go, because most of the time people end up regret with the purchase. I still reco you to change HU first, according to your budget. my previous budget was just a kick start as I just ventured into ice. i'm willing to spend to pleasure my ears. may i ask why people regret with their purchase?

QUOTE(MyWifeCar @ Mar 19 2014, 08:33 PM) They said ICE is poisonous, the more you listen the more you want to change. Well, what pleasure your ears, you also dunno yet. So why dump everything at 1 go? Decide how far you are willing to go in "pleasuring your ears", that's important too. If you really want to know about ICE, don't go to shop and ask what you can get with this budget. What you should do is go to the shop, and listen for free demo system. Then maybe discuss with the boss and decide from there. i know it's damn poisonous, same as mechanical keyboards hoho. alright thanks for the tips!
