Estimate for a vios?

Dynamat is the best soundproof, made in USA. However it is very expensive, you can go for local material and brand, cheaper by half. If you keen for Dynamat, I sell Dynamat sheets, no installation provided, estimated whole car for normal sedan(Doors + Floor + Roof + Boot and Engine Bonnet) you will need around 15-20 sheets.

You'll need to have a budget in mind when come to soundproofing.

Deal with your source of noise instead of follow whatever people say.

It seems that your car doors rattle when music go loud, so you may consider door dampening.

There are different way of dealing with door soundproofing, basically all you need to do it to dampen and then do sound insulation. (Of course, depend on your budget too~)

I would suggest you to do the front door soundproof first. At least you can feel the effect immediately.

There are so many brands out there for you to choose from. Budget counts and definitely applying it the correct way counts too.

If you are hesitant on DIY, then get some skilled installer to do it.

Do take note as well that, some unheard of brand out there are basically just a waste of money. Seen it, tested it and already throw away.
*
Agree with you, while trying to save budget, go around ask opinions from different experts, and get a reputable brand. I was once a victim by getting cheap china made soundproof, Rm30-Rm40 per piece, unable to stick well, not long lasting, and the effect is disappointing. Have to change again in the end, waste of money.

if you're going to satisfy rear passengers, or even have external SQ etc (trip to EMMA really taught me new stuff haha) then no

if only for yourself, huge waste.
*
Yeah, for true SQ, focus on front speakers will do. Invest a really really good front vocal speakers. As for me, I still install after-market rear speakers for the comfort of rear passengers, coz i do alot of fetching. Secondly is I want the surround effect when watching DVD.

I guess for SQ with front and rear speakers, time correction can correct the effect of the problem arise of upmixing, correct me if i am wrong. (My personal opinion)

surround only happen if installed with surround processor and having multiple channel amplifier to amplify each spk since all surround processor doesn't included amplifier. If there's no surround processing, the whole car will be only in stereo. so no matter watever front and back surround is only because of the time that the sound goes to your ears and the echo from the car cabin. Using time alignment maybe can solve the problem but it's better to avoid the problem first before finding the way to cure it.
*
No, i have a sound processor installed, and amplifier for each speaker.

Alo taiko.. you also another one. Music recordings where got surround recording one? Only stereo. I don't need a processor to have rear setup with stereo and besides, surround in its true meaning is only for DVD users. I just want a submersive sounding setup. Front, back, left, right, etc.. who cares that it doesn't sound 'realistic' la?

This kind of discussion will lead no where since everyone is trying force their ideals on others.
*
Partly agree with you. This is just a discussion. We can talk from moon to earth here on ideal and perfect ICE, ultimately in the end only you yourself will listen to your own setup with your own ears, no need to care about how others comment or feedback. I always stress to my customers, there is NO PERFECT setup, the setup will have to be individualised to meet individual's needs. As long as customers are happy with your setup, then so be it. biggrin.gif

DB drive subwoofer - k7 12D4
and DB drive monoblock class D 1000watss amp
*
I see, sorry missed your previous post. With your current stock Myvi player and your factory speakers, adding in a preamp won't really do you good except for the fact that you can tune your sub directly from the preamp. You cant tune your speakers without an multichannel amp connected to your speakers.

Default player with sub means you alr have a hi-lo connected from your player to your amp, and if using preamp means from hi-lo to preamp then to amp, which i won't recommend as it will distort your overall sound, such as unwanted 'aeroplane' sound if installed unprofessionally.

I would suggest instead of getting a preamp, why not get a decent player, with direct sub output, so that apart from tuning your sub directly. you can tune the EQ of your speakers. In this case, no need hi-lo, no need preamp, save the wiring, and save the trouble in the future for those unwanted noise.

do u mean i chg a better player is enuf???
*
Not to say is enough, but definitely better than getting you a preamp. Preamp wont do much for your setup.

Get a good player, if got budget, spend on front speakers and multichannel amp.

But back to basic, why are you not satisfy with your current sound? Poor clarity? Poor Mid? Poor bass? Rattling sound? Road noise? etc etc etc...Its good to identify your preferences before spending on things that you might not need smile.gif

i hv change my front speaker with built in tweeter mid bass..LOL..i aso donno..just felt not enuf bass..hmmm..LOL..reli nid some sifuss to teach me wat to do next..x((..
*
Whats the brand and model of your front speakers? I guess your front speaker is a 2 way Coaxial Speakers. Commonly, what people do is install a good component set for front speakers.

If you feel bass not enough can you adjust the level from your amp? Try not to push hard your amp level to 100%, make it around 40-60% will do. Most of the time when amp pushed to their limit, sound will get distorted.

Hmm..mohawk forget wat crystal..LOL..i think not good enuf..LOL..is my woofer nice?..hmm..and how bout my amp?..T.T so confusing..x((
*
Your woofer and monoblock amp shud do the job well, just need to fine tune it.

Ok, i am just saying below based on my experience, you dun have to follow me biggrin.gif

1. Get a good player
2. Change your current front speaker to back speaker
3. Get a good front component set
4. Get an amp for your speakers, 2 channel if you want to boost front only, or get a 4 channel if you want to boost both front and back.

Anyway, final setup still depend on what you like, you like good clear music(SQ)? or you like heavy bass music(SPL)? Life is easier if you like heavy bass. biggrin.gif

People who play SQ are very stubborn and tedious ppl, and never satisfied with their sound.. biggrin.gif (just like me sad.gif )

Thx Sifuss..x)) future help will pm u ok?? can u send me ur 9band preamp picture ? i wanna hav a look..and wat is the price??
*
Haa, i am no sifu, just special interests in ICE, spent so much before for ICE, wasted so much money as no clear guidance from friends. Most of the Car Acc Shop just wanna squeeze every bit from your pocket, most of them will tell you what to buy, but never really teach you the basic and logic behind.

Still remember more than 10 years back, I spent RM1100+ for a basic pioneer CD Player (1XXX series), a chapalang 6x9 speakers, and a cheap china tweeter. This was a pain, and if you can avoid it, yes dun repeat my mistake.

I will go back shoot the picture and PM you tonight, kept in box, never really used it. PM u price tonight.
