Change ur car player and see... mo point upgrading ur speakers and ur Head unit is original..

if u want to listen everything high-end, surely it's gonna cost u a bomb.. unless you're willing to do step by step..

Player with higher voltage output should give you some heads up and of course do read up about the headunits before buying it
*
hmm, I've installed the Infinity Kappa 60.11cs component speakers, original Mazda 2 headunit remain there, the mid this time sound at least ok to me, 7/10 songs can listen, original tweeter like 4/10 songs listenable, but I think I'm still figuring what amp/headunit mod I can do to improve the sound furthermore, to make it more romantic & powerful on some bass and less edgy and more natural on some treble, guess I'll have to trial and error to find out whistling.gif yawn.gif

Need recommendation for my 2006 Altis.

The player can't read Disc anymore. I think should be a 2-din. (old style one, no touch screen just alot of buttons)

I don't expect GPS or ability to watch movie, just want a relible one.

Concerns:
1. I have seen some 1-din players which is below 300 that does the job (CD, USB etc) but appearance wise there will be some extra space after that

2. Any good and budget 2-Din? Prefer not to touch those OEM / China ones. (Budget say 600-800?)

hi bro, for 3 way active, you need 6 channel

2 for tweeter
2 for mid range
2 for midbass

so you need a 6 channel amp ( if got any ) or 2 amps to run.. and for speakers, very hard to get 3 way component for less than 2k and also the amps..

unless you want to buy used speakers/ amp..

Thanks for the advice bro, if I have a existing 2 channel amp. Which u recommend me to hook up for the 3 ways?

Beside any brand u recommend within the 2k budget inclusive installation? I only saw focal n infinity comes with 3 way component now.

you may go for passive 1st as it will comes with crossover.. and it will split the frequencies to each driver separately.. and you need to make sure that the amp you have can give sufficient power to your speakers..

for speakers, you can ask around other sifus here bro.. if you have fb, check below pages and survey bro

KF Audio ( Mr Siemen Loh ) can consider him as grandmaster because of his experience, located in Aman Suria

EA Autoworks ( Howie Choo ) well established and reputable shop, located in Bukit Jalil. you also can find his videos in youtube.

E Audio auto acc - well known for their sq setups, located in Ampang

Car audio malaysia - one of the largest online retailer located in kepong. Personally i bought all my ICE stuffs from them.. best price guranteed.. you also can drop by and buy directly from them

Frings Audio - another well known shop for SQ setup, located in Kajang

Hope this helps you bro.. cheerzz thumbsup.gif

Thought want to spend a minimal fortune to improve the sound (<Rm500). What is my best bet?

P/S addon: if it support as good headsest I am willing to top up since my job requires me to call a lot.

Will installing a subwoofer void car warranty? That shouldn't require any wires tempering right.
*
Depends on how unscrupulous the dealer wants to be. I've seen some of the dumbest accusations and claims ever. Like changing alarm was the cause of the VW gearbox problem.

Or sound system install caused the Kia Cerato to have an ECU failure (which is likely if the installer was an idiot).

So if you're worried about warranty, don't touch anything. Otherwise just go ahead and do it and don't care about the warranty. But at the very least get it installed at a shop that knows what they're doing.

There's a shop in SS2 PJ called "VPS" or something, the installer was the ex-CV Audio shop previously from Uptown Damansara. He closed the Uptown shop to move to SS2 because of the ridiculous parking and rising cost of doing business there. They specialise in high end cars and all so your car shouldn't be an issue. They're called Petes audio (look them up in FB). They haven't done their signboard yet so just lookout for the VPS signboard.

- My ride: stock 2.0 Inspira
- Prefers SQ/SPL/SQL: SQ
- File format/medium used for my source: Bluetooth Spotify stream (320kbps MP3), USB 320kbps MP3, radio (very rarely), loseless format is not needed as I only use it at home
- Music genre: electro, rock, pop, jazz, and many other, but I don't like to limit myself to these genre so I prefer a focus on clarity, jack-of-all-trade sound system
- Budget: <RM2000
- Setup type preferences: any
- Other requirements (if any):
- I want to retain the ability to control HU with steering wheel, the setup need to be compatible with Inspira steering control
- my stock speaker already show sign of distortion, its the reason I want to upgrade my car system, so fixing it is my priority
- prefer to have bluetooth to pickup call (like Inspira original HU)
- touchscreen / GPS is not needed

the only concern of me is the inspira original HU good enough for me to upgrade component and amp for it? if so what price range of component and amp would you recommend before I should consider upgrade my HU, the HU is from Clarion but I believe its very basic one, sorry if I asking too much, I wish I could go wild on my setup but sadly my wallet doesnt allow it

after some quick research I decided to go with budget friendly build as following:

Component - Alpine SPR-60C 6.5" 2-Way Coaxial
Amp - Alpine BBX-T600 BBX

is this build okay with my HU? will I see improvement by replacing the Amp to Alpine PMX-F640 4 Channel and paired with another entry level Subwoofer (specifically underseat one)? or it's better to consider doing sound-proofing?
thanks for the help

You can go for morel or focal bro.. trust me, it worth every penny you spend.. even entry level speakers will amaze you bro.. personally im also using morel maximo smile.gif

For amp, go for class AB bro.. either alpine or re audio.. for sound proof, u can do 2 layers for front doors and some good rca cables so you can do it less than 2k..for sub you can try underseat or edifier active sub..

Clarion is a gud HU bro.. but you can change it when you have budget.. you can build your system slowly bro dont rush because its a never ending journey..

Now days aftermarket car players has with steering control adapter.. additional cost but I feel it's way better than original proton player.. you would be surprise tho.. cheapest Bluetooth is kenwood single din around 3xx ny..

Speakers perhaps u can survey 1st lahh bro

HU : pioneer Deh 6350 connect 2 pair RCA to amp.
Amp focal solid 4, front component, rear bridge sub woofer.
Can anyone advise me on the problem I meet with my system?
Recently I connect the rear output of HU to car stock speakers to fill the rear seat. Found that last time during install I connect front RCA to rear connecter of HU. So I connect back to front connecter.
Now the problem is, whenever I switch between source(USB, SD, CD,AM) and turn off HU, left side of component speaker got loud pop sound. I switch left RCA to Right, right side speaker got pop sound. I assume is RCA cable problem, but after connect RCA cable to rear connecter of HU. Problem gone. Try several times, since like rear connecter not problem. Any idea why this happens?
