Hi Jovenne,

I am considering to install UniFi but have headache figuring the installation of the cable.

House set up:

Ground floor: Living room -> Kitchen, Bathroom, Room -> Extended Kitchen

Top floor: Living room/space with high wall -> Room, Bathroom, Room

Top floor have very high wall at the living room/space where drilling for the cable entry is possible

The green box is at the back lane, I saw my neighbor's cable pull up to top floor.

So my question / fear / factor is how much will it cost to pull cable? They have to go up to top floor, over the roof of bedroom, drill hole at living room/space high wall.

If you can help me with this, I'm all go for UniFi immediately.
*
Dear Orangutan,

First of all, I am so sorry for my late reply.

Back to your question, unifi installation is free for the 1st 15m (white cable) from the FTB (white colour box which installed outside your house) to the place you setup your modem. For non-standard installation like Over-ceiling (black cable) will costs you RM170 for the First 30m and additional per metre is RM2 smile.gif IF you go for standard installation, black cable is all for free no matter how long it is.

So in your case, it is depending on you to opt for standard or non-standard as Contractor can drill from the wall instead of go overceiling smile.gif and it is also depends on where u decided to place your modem. Up or downstair.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Jovenne

So, you know the contractor or can you recommend good, trustworthy, non-potong-customer contactor  sweat.gif  ?
*
Hi,

When you apply for unifi, TM will auto assigned their contractor to do the installation.
Now we cannot choose our own contractor to do installation anymore cry.gif
However, don't worry too much because the price is all standard and you can bargain the price with them summore smile.gif
If you are not agree with the price quoted by them (if they really conned), you can request to change contractor. brows.gif

Hi,

Yes, you can keep your old number for free rental charges as long as the phone line owner is the same person as unifi owner rclxms.gif
Note: There will be RM 1 itemized billing charge every month.

1.what the different of white n black cable?
2.can I install over-ceiling myself?
*
Dear kamfoo,

1. From FDP to FTB is using black cable (Free no matter how long) and FTB to the brodband termination (15m) will be using white cable.

2. Over-ceiling by yourself? you need to get someone who can provide fibre optic cable to you in order to do it yourself. Else, it is quite hard to get fibre optic cable. blush.gif

Hi, I am from Ipoh area. I tried applying for Unifi a couple of weeks ago and according to TM point cs, there is one available port. But actually end up during installation there is no available port. sad.gif My question is, how to go about pressuring TM to add more ports to my street? I already made a complaint to Unifi, but as usual no one seems accountable as whom i can speak to other than the CS person. Or can I get the installers to pull from another street - if port is available.
*
Dear,

If you said about "another street", it is not possible. If the next tiang, then it is possible if still got free port available. smile.gif
