hi, I'm new here. updated to 4.0.4 from here http://code.google.com/android/nexus/images.html

I got a little prob

Previously when i received an sms on my 4.0.2 yakjuxw, the status bar shows the notification of my received sms with an image of the sender on the left side. But after updating to 4.0.4, it seems that the images on the left of the sms notification in the status bar shows the icon of the app in grayish colour instead even though the photo in my contacts are still there. Is it because of the update? Or am i missing something here? hmm.gif

I would advice you to have factory reset, after an update. Because sometimes, you might invite few unwanted bugs.

did that... still the same. still shows the message icon instead of the photo in the status bar. only for sms though, others like email and google talk are ok. that aint normal right? or is every1 getting the same thing as i am on 4.0.4?

I think previously you have some kind of app that display contacts photo in the notification bar. I can assure you, stock ICS doesn't show contact photo on sms, only the SMS app icon.

ahaaaa... now i get it. thanks notworthy.gif it seems that the notification that displayed the photo was because the sender emailed me, not sms. it was not the sms app but instead it was the mail app that displayed the photo. thanks again~
