Not sure if you guys know about this trick or not, but just a heads up.

So I opened a sale thread:

From what you can see, I put there that someone reserved the phone already and i put the buyer's username

Then the scammer went and contacted the buyer via phone (i think he search the username posts and topics) and pretend to be me! Asking the buyer to bank-in money into a dodgy Maybank account with weird name (could be Nigerian or Iranian)

So please be careful when it comes to dealing in Lowyat. Thats why i never put my phone number in sale thread. Only PM and then only I give my phone number out.

unfortunately this is not new. I remember reading similar cases before.

Even more reason to never publish contact info in a public area, and always communicate with your seller/buyer through the original/confirmed real methods only

so better put ur phone number in ur thread coz the buyer will know u r calling not the scammer...rite?
