Ours hydrolick rite. Any comments on installing rear tower bars w/o changing the rear anti roll bars? Worth doing? Or minimal results?

@miuk: Mythology = the NOT aluminium one?

Okay my understanding. Mitsu came with Front ARB, Front tower strut and Rear ARB + Hard sus + 18 rims/50 tyres. Result: Tail happy.

Potong INCREASED the diameter of the front ARB and decreased the rear + Softer sus + 16 rims/60 tyres. Result: Better balance, better comfort, boaty feeling.

So, we add strut. Increase front stiffness. Wouldn't this result in more understeer now? Put stiffer Rear ARB OR Rear tower strut: Neutral with less body roll?

Am I korek? Or am I just spouting tahi kerbau over here?

don have increase the front ARB

inspira 22 16
LGT 22 22

thinner rear anti roll bar for more comfort feel and understeer provide safer driving feel
*
Okay. I'm working under the basic assumption that harder front vs back = understeer and harder back vs front = oversteer here (which might be wrong as heck). So:

22 + 16 : Slight understeer bias.

22 + front strut + 16 (what most of us are running now) : Increased understeer?

If you want a (relatively) neutral bias (aka, less tail happy but not understeer happy either) now, you would need:

a) 22 + front strut + 16 + rear strut

b) 22 + front strut + 18/22

That is, if we ONLY consider the struts and ARBs. Not the sus or the rims/tyres (considering bro CKK had to get his sus rebuilt, we can safely say Potong adjusted the geometry of the rear sus as well).

IINM. Please korek me if I'm wrong (which I think I am wor).

About the ARB, 19 eh. UR got 18, might try that, but I heard there's problems with the brake cables shearing with UR ARBs? Any alternatives?

Personal Mod Targets:

Current: K&N drop in, Osram NBP, Vinyl Eyelids for lights, Mitsu boot tray (where to get?), Meguiar's UQW + ONR.

Near Future: 17 rims + Tyres.

Far Future: Titans, Rear ARB/Strut, Everco 4-2-1 + decat + bullet + muffs, R3 rear ducklip.

Yep. That looks about right.

Morning all smile.gif  Time to start work at lyn...

Whats this ARB bar, etc... do u all know what it does or not? Dun simply put coz ppl say good. Ur driving style and others may be diff. Proton has made this car a very driveable car with soft grippy rear and front understeer characteristics that are easy to correct during fast corners.
*
UncXC, that's why I had a looooong windy post about the ARB. I am VERY aware of the understeer bias of the car and what Potong did to achieve this. As such, what I aim to do is to simply ENHANCE what Potong did and make the rear stiffer a bit without making the tail too happy as per the ori Mitsu tuning.

I mean I like the understeer bias and am painfully aware of the fact that oversteer is much more a problem then understeer, but the rear end is slightly too soft (lateral wise) for my liking, that's all.

As such, I think I'll prolly leave things stock or go get UR 18/mitsu 19 ARBs for a slightly stiffer ass to compensate for my strut enhanced front. Would that work without introducingntoo much oversteer?

I'm also considering rear tower bars but that might give me a problem later if I wanna carry stuff in the boot.

Lidat I prefer the Clarion Mirage wor, at least I won't lose VAPS, even tho it's not Jinjerbred. Should be the same price asso.

The modding capabilities could be endless though, even w/o Jinjerbred.

Slow but good sound = win for me. Besides, you wanna play 3D games on your HU ma? As long as the GPS isn't too laggy it's okay for me, as flyaudio usually has sheety SQ, and my SGS2 already takes care of the mobile computing side of things.

EVEN BETTER SOLUTION, a double din adapter for iTouch/Android media player/SGS as HU. Can be done? Make it detachable and you can even hide your HU (aka the iTouch/Andy media player in the glovebox wor.

I do still have my old Nokia N810 that nobody wants. Might just work as a basic carputer + OBD2.

If I JIT can use as CTVF I long time do edi, save money asso.

JIT into fuel tank = octane booster?

JIT onto battery = voltage stabilizer?

JIT onto car paint = seirra glow?

Very useful wor.

But seriously, very low boost BOT/supercajer please Speedworks. 205-210nm of torque enough edi.
