Guys, just want to know if you are aware of this.
Last week, I was at Puchong when i followed a 3 or 5 tonne lorry that is filled with tyres. these are all new tyres with the sticker and stuff. but then it is not arranged properly but more like randomly thrown into the lorry. among the brands i saw was Conti, Goodyear and Bridgestone. I find it very curious and over taken the lorry. I was shocked to see the company name "XXX recycle tires trading".
Then last wed, i saw another one near Pandan Indah Police station. i was not sure if this lorry is the same one but somehow it made me feel very skeptical of changing new tyres.
Anyone have way of telling if the tyre is new?

How can TS spot the brand of the tyre? U hv super human eyes? Unless there's brand new sticker on them, otherwise, i don't think u can tell what tyres r on the lorry. Or u r super expert by looking at the thread design.
Most probably these tyres r going for retread.

There are a lot of "old tyres" from the tyre shops, these "old tyres" are unsold units of the branded tyres, maybe manufactured a few years ago.

QUOTE(fix24311 @ Sep 5 2012, 05:25 PM) i see. thanks perhaps i can get cheap ps3,t1r,c2d for spare There are shops which are still selling old models tyres... eg. CC1 ... i got info that Continental always try to push out the unsold stock at a very low price to various tyre shops, but im not sure whether this is true or not..
