I can confirm for you guys that there is no ECO button even in the US version of the Elantra, ECO is an indication if you are driving economically or not.You'll get the power only if you decide not to drive "ECO" style. That's what I found out during my drive in the US. Overall, I like the car very much, just that its quite light to be susceptible to crosswinds drag, but you wont face that problem here in malaysia.
This is great for FC cuz if u see the ECO light on, you can be sure you're getting at least 32-ish mpg. I manage to average 38 mpg in US city drive (which translates to about 15km/l if not mistaken ) on R91 petrol.
And it takes quite a while for it to switch out of ECO, unless you floor it the moment u start your engine.
Otherwise just switch to manual gears. no problem with power there.
