Got my car this afternoon.
Driver's windows produces loud click noise when it's about to finish closing. Driver's side suspension seem to have ticking noises when going on uneven road. Need to get these fixed, then should be perfect. |

I realise my new car has swirl marks on certain part of the car (half of the bonnet and some spots on roof), as if some unprofessional polishing is done. I can see VVV marks under the lights.
How to fix without further polishing? |

QUOTE(VincentChen @ Apr 1 2012, 08:42 PM) No, but as I understand, my Proton checklist has car wash as one of the criteria when collecting my car. I just washed my car for the first time myself today.QUOTE(xandras @ Apr 1 2012, 08:58 PM) U need polishing man.. But careful polishing.. It could be that ur car was scratched while delivering to u, then they polish it off using rotary.. Don't feel like sending for polishing risking the clear coat. I could try some sealant product which I can apply myself without polishing.Ah~ Slight disappointment. This post has been edited by mengsuan: Apr 1 2012, 09:10 PM |

Polishing using wax? My context, polish is polish, wax is wax. Do you mean waxing is sufficient to fix the problem?

QUOTE(xandras @ Apr 1 2012, 09:27 PM) Nope. What I mean was for u to use those wax/polishing compound like Soft99 and polish those scratches off. I have little experience with polish. Takut la make things worse.I thought of calling up the Proton branch. But not as if they care about these swirl marks. Their checklist only has scratches criteria, not swirls |

My suspension ticking noise is gone. It'e either everything has seated well now or the rain camouflaged the problem.
Swirl marks are not visible in daylight, only artificial lights. I think I'll just leave it alone and give it some sealant/wax. This post has been edited by mengsuan: Apr 2 2012, 10:15 AM |

QUOTE(VincentChen @ Apr 2 2012, 04:59 PM) Permanon seller advised me to do proper paint surface correction. Coating may not help swirls.QUOTE(zapdos9 @ Apr 2 2012, 05:07 PM) Car still new polish what lah. Go do sealant or coating is enough. Go polish later u are sacrificing your clear coat only. Since both of you say so, then i try to apply coating then sealant first.Correct sequence right? Coating then sealant. |

Drove home without rain/water, indeed the suspension had no more noise. Hopefully it's not a temporary lubrication because of water.
When I first got my car, I drove it while it shows 19.9L/100KM. The second time I drove it to work, it dropped to 10.1L/100KM. On my way home, it goes down to 9.7L/100KM. Definitely needs to go to 8+L/100KM, otherwise it drinks more fuel than my old Wira. |

If the suspension needs to tick, then it better faster tick. This post has been edited by mengsuan: Apr 2 2012, 08:26 PM |

Real performance and handling needs more time before I can judge. I have yet to exceed 100KM/h in my short travel within KL.
I can feel the car being heavier to move it in start-stop traffic. Some may find the acceleration lacking but for an old Wira comparison, the PE paces up effortlessly for speeds like 20-90KM/h. Gradient ascents are effortless as my Wira would start to knock if I push it too hard. NVH, impressive for me. You know, old cars are little score to NVH. Suspension is soft and comfortable. Little engine noise, maybe just a little tyre rumbling sound depending on road surface. |
