Let's say u use ur 0.5 inch as muffler tip. Which means the diameter of the outlet is 0.5 inch. Stock tip = 1.5 Inch. The decrease in this outlet diameter causes the pressure to increase in exhaust system, which may lead to leakages and pressure build up in the engine block instead. Just imagine trying to blow out of a starbucks hot drinks' straw and a bubble tea straw. Which one is easier to blow?

Higher pressure also = explode. U put a bag of chips in microwave oven see explode anot.

Turbo increases air flow pressure into engine, which means increased volume of air to help facilitate better combustion with a better AFR. More air + more fuel = more power. Less air + more fuel = rich mixture, more air + less fuel = lean mixture.

Not necessarily higher pressure = better power. It depends on different cases whether the pressure is needed or not in the first place for the power to come in.

SEBERANG JAYA: A man was seriously injured here early Friday when his car engine exploded as he turned its ignition key.

The victim, who suffered 80% burns, was pulled out by neighbours from the vehicle parked outside his house in Taman Sembilang, and sent to Seberang Jaya Hospital.
