Is the free 1 month subscription and free installation unifi promotion still available now? Some sales guy informed me that the promotion has already expired; but I still see it on the TM website. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks..

Guy, what if I've apply through the unifi website, made installation appointment already. Can I cancel my application? Do I have to pay RM500 because I haven't even install yet?

Hi, would like to ask alll sifus here. How is the coverage for unifi within a single storey of 40x70ft(got wall in between)? Do I need any gadget to power the transmission? Since I've never use wifi before, I don't know if the signal is weak or strong. Please advise.
*
You may need a repeater. I'm using my old router as switch/wifi repeater by disabling it's DHCP function.

What will happen if diabled the DHCP function?
*
DO NOT DISABLE YOUR UNIFI ROUTER DHCP. I'm talking about if you have an extra or old router that you are not using and turn it into a wifi repeater. Here's a good guide:

Then this is wired? I thought Unifi can use wireless so I can go anywhere with my laptop within 1000 sq ft...
*
Ya, the downside of this is you have to have wires connection to that particular repeater. But from that repeater onwards, you'll have a whole new range of wifi zone. I have LAN ports pre-installed during renovation of my house, so it's not much of a problem for me as I can just connect the wifi repeater to these LAN ports which is connected with the Unifi router.

I think the Chip mag May issue has a very good guide on this topic along with a very easy to understand diagram.

Anyone faced this problem before?

My Astro (normal not byond) set top box is located close together with the unifi equipment, and two channels (CNN and another one which I can't recall now) are having "corrupted image" problems (basically unwatchable). All other Astro channels worked fine.

After a bit of consideration I decided to just test it by switching off the DECT (Motorola) phone power, and suddenly those "corrupted" channels started working 100% again.

I had exactly the same problem with my golf and supersport channel. It's affected by the cordless phone signal or something. When I bring the base of the Dect far away from the Astro decoder, the picture became clear again. rclxub.gif

Does unifi provide us a way to check our download usage (download only). I don't like using bandwidth monitor software because it always add up with the data I transfer from my NAS.

They haven't implement. Guess they will do this when they implement quota. Erm... You can try use ddwrt firmware. But need some setup there to get unifi working... But it does show you your statistics on WAN usage which I believe doesn't count LAN usage.
*
That's exactly what I need. Something to record my WAN usage, excluding the LAN one. But I don't dare to mess with my router yet since I only just installed Unifi..

I'm quite pissing off with Unifi lately. Last week one evening for some reason I can't connect to Unifi, so I was thinking to call CS, and the phone itself also got problem, can't call in and out although it has tone. Used my Maxis HP line to call and forever on hold, wasted credit for nothing. Connection back to normal on next day though.

And just now same thing happen again, no internet connection and phone wont work. Are they doing maintenance or what? Am I the one who's facing this problem?
*
Unifi here in Shah Alam so far has been performing as expected. No problem here (touch wood)

I see that you are using google browser downloader. Have you tried IDM or any download manager. I'm getting full speed with IDM from RS premium.

Astro has to heavily compress to fit more channels. but then, if you're using HDMI on HyppTV and composite on Astro, that might cause huge differences.

I also realize that normal SD channels on the b.yond HD box is more crappy than the normal SD receiver box.
*
Even if you use HDMI cable, the SD channels on Astro also look crappy. By the way, not all channel in Hypptv are HDs.
