guys , im staying in highrise building , will it still use the copper line? and what's the difference with landed?
*
high rise sometimes also can get fibre..., but depends on the contractor...

copper got limitation which i believe is still 25Mbps max, but also depends the quality of your cable..., some is just got ripped by age (or rat rclxub.gif )

still able to handle 10Mbps connection at my condo without problem though.. smile.gif

hi all
any 1 have the heat issue about the modem?
i put the wireless modem on top of the router...
any 1 have solution no to let them so easy overheated?
=))
*
Put it on top of one another is bad placement, since all the heat will accumulated over there...

i hang my router on the wall, since the wall temperature is normally cooler..., as for modem, i put a USB powered fan next to it...

when the modem (i mean BTU here) got hot, sometimes the connection is slightly dropped, so it's good idea to keep it cool...

how u solve it?
*
in my experience, now i never ever use phone call center to report anything, i only use the mail form in the unifi website..., using this they always contact me (normally will call me) in 24 hours, and sometimes few times in one days just for asking whether the issue resolved or not...

Hi everyone, I have done some readings...but still don't quite understand. Hope someone can help me.

I am sick of the DIR-615 as well, seems like always disconnected for a while, and connect back....

I am planning to get a router as well, from my understanding, (read from klseet website) only those models in klseet website can connect directly to BTU, without going through DIR-615, am I right?

If I want to buy Linksys E4200, I have to go through DIR-615 ? and will it slow down the speed? I am not using the IPTV, not sure if I can use E4200 without going through  DIR-615?

If linksys is not recommended, ASUS RT-N56U or RT-N66U is better?

Hope you guys can help me, thank you so much.

btw, I am using Mac, not sure if Asus or other brands work well with Mac....
*
in maximum speed case 20Mbps, even when u go through Dir-615 1st, i think it won't slow u down...,

but i gonna suggest u get the router that can handle tagging itself, so u no need to use DIR-615 anymore..

N56U is very good already, from spec, N66U could be better for heavy user, but is it already released yet?

First, are you connected using Wireless?

And if you are using Wireless, which wireless channel are you using?

Install the software called inSSIDer and check what are the least used channel in your area and configure your 841ND to use that channel.

disconnect your line connection 1st, and re-connect so u will get new ip from TM side,

some ip sometime r just pure bad, either too many ppl shared the same ip, or the line connection for those ip itself is bad

with bad ip, even VIP 10 can experience less than 1mb speed.. sweat.gif
