Believe me, 600kB/s is already more than enough. You can now download faster than you watch. 
VIP 5 very2 enough for any normal user/normal family.... only need higher when share with heavy downloaders.. OR speedophile

ideal and best? dont think so.. easy convienent yes. ideal and best = put another access point but connected to router using cable..pull cable from router to another access point/another router which u wan to use for wireless.. disable dhcp (only dhcp active is main router) that is ideal
second best is powerline
last is wireless bridge/repeater..etc
