Just wanna let you guys know, I bought 1043ND for RM145 at viewnet. On the price list it is higher... you'd have to ask the staff at the network section for a discount.

Hi, does anyone know if a DIR615 G2 is flashable with the DDRWT firmware? I have a friend who said he was successful doing it but when I uploaded the firmware file, it failed to flash.

What method did you use to flash? The right way is to use 'emergency room' mode.

[color=green]after a year of using UNIFI VIP5 with DIR-615, dump the router just 10min ago and go online with my newly brought TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND that comes with V1.8 and wr1043nv1_en_3_13_4_up_110906 firmware inside. the box said "supports unifi", a bit high side on the price but beats traveling all the way to lowyat, got it at rm155.

installation was easy, plug everything in and run 192.168.1.1 and just setup to unifi type and key in undername/password and voila! online and ready to rock.

will provide progress of this router after some time use.
RM155 is a good price. At LYP the RRP is RM159.
Try running the router 24/7 and see if you encounter the issues mentioned in this thread .

Won't recognize as in you cannot see the SSID? Or simply cannot connect?

But WDS doesn't really support WPA. Have to use WEP or open
*
It does support WPA, at least for TPLINK since I've tried it.

Will do bro, but I'm afraid they will give typical answer and push me back to the contractor again hahaha  doh.gif

Well I don't think that is their SOP (Standard Operating Procedure).
During my last 2 Unifi installations (I've had 5 in total) the contractors told me to call the hotline if there's any problem... and coincidentally during the installation I heard the installer telling someone on the phone "lain kali you jangan call I.. you call hotline unifi terus".

Just... explain in detail to the operator. If you're really desperate just turn off the fiber modem, call the hotline and tell the operator that your Unifi is down.. you'll be asked to do the standard turn off turn on unplug replug shit.. just say there's still no signal on the fiber modem. laugh.gif

Hi guys..something weird happen to my tp-link TL-WR841ND router yesterday...suddenly got problem with the wireless connection..not sure why..although my ipad and laptop can detect its wireless network..but loading a page take a long time...at first i thought is the unifi problem..i tried restarting everything..problem still there..then i tried plug in the LAN cable directly to the router and tried...to my surprise..the internet works well...(i have been using this tp-link TL-WR841ND router with unifi for a month dy).then i tried using back the original TM DIR-615 router...no problem...anyone knows what happen???
*
For troubleshooting purpose I think you should reset the router (by pressing the reset button) and reconfigure everything again and see if it solves the problem.
If same case, time to do your 1 to 1 exchange with TPLINK. thumbup.gif

hi guys, i'm looking for a router that has QOS which can control ethernet port speed(example : port 1 max 1mb, port 2 max 2mb), previously i was using DD-WRT on my WRT-54GL but i believe that router not so compatible with unifi.

so what is the cheapest router that can serve that purpose?
*
WR841ND. RM80

the original firmware itself has the QOS function? or do i need to flash custom firmware?
and any issue with this router like low mem and torrent causes it to freeze?
*
It's available in the original firmware.
As for problems... none that I know of.

Well it really depends. Usually TM will only charge for cabling insider the house not outside. I have a case where the pole was too far away from house, customer was given an estimation of RM1xxx+ . Brought the issue up to TM, showed some documentations and magic happened. Whole job was done and customer didnt even pay a single dollar.
Bro this is unifi discussion thread la. Furthermore not every where got maxis. Maxis coverage is so so limited so no point proposing it here.
*
Got an interesting story to share bro. Remember I applied 2 Unifi accounts with you? One on 4th floor the other 5th floor. No additional charge at all. rclxms.gif

Around last month my boss applied by himself for another 2 accounts for a lower level via his contact... and additional charges were incurred despite being on a lower lever (therefore easier to install). doh.gif
Didn't want to argue because it was urgent, plus he agreed to pay.
Told the contractor that the previous two contractors didn't charge anything. He and his colleague replied that they will be happy to pass the job to previous contractors if I don't want to proceed with the installation. They were also surprised when I told them the previous contractors didn't charge anything extra.

I was also informed that the system is now different, previously TM would use 2 teams for installing Unifi (one to pull the cable from DP room/FDP/ and the other team to continue from the FTB) but now there's only 1 team so the cost is supposedly lower.

I do remember the previous two contractors; the ones in charge of pulling the cable babbling about not making money with the installation though.. laugh.gif
