QUOTE(weichieh007 @ Jun 14 2012, 06:05 PM) You may need a repeater. I'm using my old router as switch/wifi repeater by disabling it's DHCP function. What will happen if diabled the DHCP function?

QUOTE(weichieh007 @ Jun 14 2012, 06:26 PM) DO NOT DISABLE YOUR UNIFI ROUTER DHCP. I'm talking about if you have an extra or old router that you are not using and turn it into a wifi repeater. Here's a good guide: http://www.ehow.com/how_2308651_use-router-as-repeater.htmlThen this is wired? I thought Unifi can use wireless so I can go anywhere with my laptop within 1000 sq ft...

QUOTE(weichieh007 @ Jun 15 2012, 09:27 AM) Ya, the downside of this is you have to have wires connection to that particular repeater. But from that repeater onwards, you'll have a whole new range of wifi zone. I have LAN ports pre-installed during renovation of my house, so it's not much of a problem for me as I can just connect the wifi repeater to these LAN ports which is connected with the Unifi router. I think the Chip mag May issue has a very good guide on this topic along with a very easy to understand diagram. I don't have his mag So, usually how far can unifi cover if without repeater?
