Hai, I registered just so I can share this. The contractor is here right now (as I'm typing), I signed up for VIP10 package, all things are fine and smooth etc. The only thing that ponders me is the extra charge from unconventional installation, the contractor climbed up the roof and pulled the cable from the alley to the front door through the roof top, overall the operation is simple, while I do understand it probably exceeds the 15 meters limit of optic cable provided from the package. The contractor charged me RM 300 for the installation. So I was wondering, in what aspect is he charging? Extra cable? Unconventional installation? Or both? I don't mind that much since the charge is going to be shared among other tenants. Just wondering if this is common or not, and might be useful for others..? Thanks in advance, I'll share my first impression if possible after the installation is completed. :) PS: The installation is almost done, connected and going strong. Speed is as promised right now. This post has been edited by CY Law: Apr 28 2012, 12:04 PM

My landlord keep warning me about contractors trying to charge extra $$, but I'll keep my fingers crossed. Right now everything is up and running, smooth operation overall. The only problem is the box is in the alley behind the house, and either through 2nd floor or through the rooftop will have extra charge, and since I wanna keep it simple I just told them to install it through the rooftop, less drilling and such. And they can't drill through the tiled wall of the kitchen so installation through the back is not possible D: that's what my landlord prefer anyway.
