Just installed Unifi VIP20 minutes ago but the speed isn't consistent when doing speedtest.net. At first it was around 18mbps but then it can drop to as low as 0.89mbps or 3mbps. Is it first day the speed isn't consistent?

Just installed VIP20 today morning, and the technician told me not to switch off the unifi modem until tomorrow if we want to move the place of modem. But then i forgot to tell my housemate, and his hand gatal go close the modem and take out the 3 plug extension and move to other place. And now the internet speed is really slow and the ping has been very inconsistent (may up to 900ms sometimes) and the speedtest.net is around 0.6x only. I mean does it really affect my modem or internet speed if he switch off the modem in first day?

Tried edi. After I restart the speed went back to like around 18mbps, but after 10 mins it becomes very slow again. Or maybe first day problem?

SkyHermit, better call the installer. Inform him & he will go on-site to solve it FOC. You paying a premium price for "slow" internet access....

Your housemates... Do they download? yawn.gif That's the only thing I could think of...
It shouldn't be a problem for you to move them around... It won't make it goes haywire...
That ping is pretty awesome. 1.4second...

Just did this test, to New York!

I have been very interested to apply for unifi but sadly my area is not listed in customer portal list. Already register 4 times but still not available. Really interested here thumbup.gif
