Hey people... Been lurking around this thread for the longest time but finally got my unifi installed a couple of weeks back (Rattan - would have gone through you but you don't cover Johor ).

Most of the speedtests look good for my package (VIP5 only). But my question was with Hypptv.

I've noticed that intermitently, whilst watching, I'll get the "Satellite Icon of Death", ie, the satellite with the 'x' mark. The problem will persist for maybe a few minutes, and then (sometimes) after changing channels or waiting a while, will come back. Doesn't affect all channels at the same time either.

Typical example would be the mediawall on Channel 100. I'll get the first page with nothing, but if i page down to the 2nd page, it'll be fine. Sometimes the media wall will be fine, but when I select the specific channel, the satellite icon will appear.

I'm wondering whether it's a the (IPTV) STB or a problem upstream. Unifi call centre just goes thru the usual motions, and says that they might have to send a technician but bc the problem is intermittent, I don't think they'll find anything on their visit.

Just wondering whether anyone else has faced this type of issue? Must be noted during the 'downtime', both VOIP and internet lines remain rock-solid (ie fine).

my vip20 has free 3 month and due date is 10 May and only have to pay RM215... what a great saving! Syabas unifi i get good speed, less downtime and 24/7 online....what can i said!

Hi all, I have just applied for an upgrade from VIP5 to VIP20. Do I need to reconnect to the WAN side for this to take into effect?

i got problems,sometimes the speed down like craps 20kbps around 5mins,then come back to normal. wtf? is that router problem or what? coz i'm using TM router.

I got the same problem. VIP 10 but the speed max at 5mbps. Every time I email and called the Unifi support they keep ask do the speedtest :/ Any1 got any idea who can help check on this too?

Edit : Oh btw, thanks again rattan. Unifi was installed today, it took them over 2 hours (11am ->1.30pm). I only sent in all my details to you on Monday and Saturday same week, I have Unifi!

I only have 1 gripe - - I so wish the cordless phone (?) could be placed somewhere else in the house. I didn't know it was "attached" to the Unifi unit. Everytime someone wants to make free calls, they will come into my room. I really don't want wires running out of my room into another room. 

hi guys....i installed unifi over 2 weeks ago....and pretty satisfied with it. sure, torrent speed depends on your seeder but when plenty seeder is available, can reacy to 2.2 MBps....really satisfied. using vip 20 btw. thanks rattan for the installation....reliable and trusty guy

Hi guys, just installed unifi last month and already received the tm bill yesterday in my email. Previously i used streamyx and managed the termination by bro rattan. Why i still receive the streamyx bill? Anyone here can explain? Or anyone faced the same before? Do i still need to pay the streamyx bill?many thanks..

I received a email from TM mentioned that the installation appointment on 4/5/12..............may I to know is that this date is accurate, or just tm's simple reply & waiting the contractor confirmation?

hey may i know is there any solution that i can remote my hypptv from my upper floor ?
like the STB sure will beside my TV at downstair , but sometime at night lazy walk down , anything i can do to remote the STB from the upstair ?
is there any device to transfer the signal ?

@rattan Thank you for your awesome work! On Friday (April 13), I asked him all the info I could about UNIFI. A quick reply later I decided to think over the weekend whether to apply or not. On Sunday night (April 15) I sent him all the info needed to submit for application. Monday morning (April 16), all application work done. Installation date was fixed on Friday (April 20). I moved it to Saturday (April 21), and on the same day, everything was fixed and working. It took 2 hours 30 minutes of installation time.

Total time - less than 1 week after application submission to rattan, UNIFI was all set. Quick to reply and very helpful.

Is the cap implemented already? Been having realllyyyyyyyyy bad speeds on international sites and downloads.

Like i said heavy packet loss. it isnt the problem in afternoon. TMnet is shitty again.

rattan I dont know of if u are agent or if u got contacts inside TMnet, Ask their technician inside the TM check area @ desaparkcity/Kepong 52200 KL. UNIFI line here @ night is terrible. 175.139 IP range now
