thanks for info. So that I should buy 2 routers(same model) then configured them in to bridged.
So when router A is connect to WAN, the devices which use wired LAN to connect router B are able to access internet?

one can be any normal router with wifi..connect to WAN..no need to be same as B

the second one is the wireless bridge
An example of such thing is TP-Link TL-WA801ND. I know it says access point but it can be a wireless bridge too.
Another example is Linksys WET610N

How far are the two sites? Can't pull cable?

It does support WPA, at least for TPLINK since I've tried it.

Hey guys, sorry for interruption, new users here and wanna ask question about modem sad.gif

May I know what modem model do they give for recent subscribers?
The subcontractor gave me Alcatel Lucent code:i-240g-p, which I only found out recently that it was quite an old model :S

I've faced quite a hiccup on my connection especially playing ps3 games, and even some times, loading webpages also slow like snail..
is it related with the modem?

For your info, the modem spoiled once and show red light on "optical" indicator, and so we ask the contractor to fix it.
They wanna change the modem for us at 1st, but i'm not sure why they didn't do that eventually, and they tell us, if next time we call them again, they will charge us money
(I was like wtf? the line isn't smooth until now ever since the 1st day, shouldn't you guys need to bear with that?)

So any advice please? sad.gif
What I wish to know are:
1) Is my modem model an old one AKA i kena conned
2) Do I really have to pay them since.. it's like their fault :S

Thank you in advance!

Well I don't think that is their SOP (Standard Operating Procedure).
During my last 2 Unifi installations (I've had 5 in total) the contractors told me to call the hotline if there's any problem... and coincidentally during the installation I heard the installer telling someone on the phone "lain kali you jangan call I.. you call hotline unifi terus".

Just... explain in detail to the operator. If you're really desperate just turn off the fiber modem, call the hotline and tell the operator that your Unifi is down.. you'll be asked to do the standard turn off turn on unplug replug shit.. just say there's still no signal on the fiber modem. laugh.gif

doh.gif doh.gif Why you call the contractor? They take TM money to help you install. Anything after that you should find TM mah doh.gif doh.gif Especially when the contractor is external contractor. You call them after that, it's like a private service by them for you, confirm want charge you la laugh.gif laugh.gif
Anyway, just call TM. They will send their own technician (normally) instead if it's just to replace equipment or anything.
