I'm posting this question after weeks of survey and googling, but not getting else where. A little bit introduction of my Unifi Biz20 setup, 5 fix IP (yeap, I ask for additional IP for RM300 extra/month!!!). As usual, Huawei HG850a and DIR-615 as original setup and I'm trying to get rid of DIR-615.

With guidelines from klseet and athena, I tried the following setup but results were not satisfying.

a) Bought Cisco router and wired directly to Huawei (without DIR615). Lots of packet retransmission, so I brought forward to Cisco TAC for fine tuning. End result, Cisco blame TM. That's fine.. switch it back to DIR-615.

b) Bought TPLink WR1043ND at PC Expo, young chap told me it support Unifi and even the box label Unifi ready. Well, it's something new for me so I bought it. Too bad it doesn't work. Turn to klseet blog for custom firmware (with Unifi mode), cool it works but it doesn't support 5 fix IP (Dlink were using IP Unnumbered/bridging but couldn't find this option in TPlink). I'm yet to try DDWRT and OpenWRT.

Anyone else have better suggestion? Replace DIR-615 with unique setup (Unifi + 5 fix IP). I only saw 1 or 2 post in forum relate to this setup (edwardstevens and vNistelrooy) but their post is not getting me anywhere.

Hi, I plan to trunk vlan from my network location to my living room. The recommendation from klseet.com is to pair MikroTik RB750G with a Unifi compatible router. I still need to hook up an wireless AP to the RB750G. I plan to get MikroTik RB751G-2HnD wireless router and pair with TP-Link TL-SG2109WEB managed switch. The connection would be Huawei BTU <--> RB751G <--> SG2109WEB <--> IPTV & ACRyan POHD. Will this work or someone has done this before able to share experience? Thanks,

It is still available from Lelong. I'm aware of the SL2210WEB but would like to maintain GB network throughout. SL2210WEB is 10/100M. I would probably go with MikroTik RB250GS instead as it is cheaper although not as fast as a switch but should be enough for media application.

Thanks mate, I will have a look in this. I don't think 1043ND can extend VLAN trunk to another VLAN switch (unless with OpenWRT, probably). The IP addressing on WAN interface (5 IP address) cannot extend to another VLAN/L3 switch unfortunately without bridging it. It's a simple logic, you can't have same subnet on 2 NIC and bridging is the only solution.

Of course there's another solution, 1-1 NAT with 1043ND but I prefer not going to this path as it will break the network design.

I used to have a similar problem with high packet loss that affects the upload speed last year for months... apparently, its due to some issues with the fiber transmitter or something at my condo.

wow 210.195 Ip seems slow now. 

but proviously using the DIR615 i din set any google DNS but working fine, but once change to TP Link the problem exists...btw, may i know how u manage to use 2 router at the same time?

i do test several channel from 5 to 11...all cant work...i even set the auto channel, but same result...really dunno wht to do...

anyone found unifi have frequent drop signal (not wifi), everytime i try to browse something, my browser will show web not found, i need to refresh to make it work again ....

any clue ??

I only got one mac address 0 0 0 0 0. After I checked, the pc is connected to DIR-615 which is connected after TP-Link 841ND. You got similar setup? Means WAN->841ND->DIR615. My dir615 is not hosting dhcp server. IP address all assigned by 841nd. Other comp shows mac correctly.

so what do u think the problem is? my pc distance with the wifi is just like 2m + long only

I remember when I install unifi it says pay RM249 (vip20's package price) + 10% (forgot what tax) + 6% (gov tax). But now i check my billing mail it says Rm508. How come so much?

I got my unifi on 4th May and i received the bill on 4th June but i just opened my email today. Is it too late to pay now? or will they charge extra?
