Is this internet spike?



I am a unifi 20mbps user and from the video above, you can notice that the speedtest is between 0.69 and 0.70 mbps. It is during that moment my internet spike. The spike might last for almost 20 secs between 0.69 and 0.70 mbps. Sometimes it may spike when the speed is very fast like around 20mbps too. My internet spike happen between the interval of 5 secs like that which is very frustrating. When i play dota, i click a place and it needs to wait like 5 secs only it will move. And sometimes it will simply move my hero even though I didn't point in that direction. And all my friends were saying i am very lag. May i know what is the problem? One of my friends say I should change my 150mbps usb tp-link to 300mbps for me to play dota smoothly, but i don't think that is the problem.

guys, how come my hypptv does not have Youtube listed in Interactive? baru perasan la this new function hahaha.. can anyone help me?

Its not the adapter speed. Theres some adapters than ping countinously with router. Avoid those.
I tend to always pair the same brand for adapter to router. 300mbps doesnt really help.
Dual bands so far are seriously awesome for gaming. But distance wise not that good

Hah lol.. that's ur internal private ip with data pinged to server. check ur DHCP reservation back.ARP maybe.As i said earlier, TP-Link security is dubious. When use with ddrt or openwrt it's fine.The web GUI not good.

so what do u think the problem is? my pc distance with the wifi is just like 2m + long only

I remember when I install unifi it says pay RM249 (vip20's package price) + 10% (forgot what tax) + 6% (gov tax). But now i check my billing mail it says Rm508. How come so much?

yeah well.. the famous ITT ( intent to tricked ). Basically TM needs a 2 month advance payment prior to 24months contract.Usually they will charge 1 + 1 in ur 1st bill. If u install somewhere in the mid-month, then they'll pro-rated ur bill accordingly. if ur package is 249/month, u shud be charged total 498/-.If u get online register, they give u 1(one month) free subscription but subject also to be prorated. RM508 sounds about right.

I got my unifi on 4th May and i received the bill on 4th June but i just opened my email today. Is it too late to pay now? or will they charge extra?

Currently is using DIR615 and the wifi strength barely 1 bar on second floor.
Tried to DIY the soda can to the antenna also 1 bar outcome.
So which router is the best in terms of wifi strength?? TPLINK 841?? Mikrotik ?? Asus??

Has any Unifi user got a rebate for situation where the internet was down?

I made 1st report, and after two weeks they came. Checked, and said wait for few hours and if still no connection, make another report.

Still down. So I made a 2nd report, and after two weeks only they came. And change the modem. Problem solved.

So for 4 weeks of no internet connection at all, I made a request for a rebate.

Anyone had similar situation? Can get a rebate? Do you ask for a rebate for the whole 4 weeks which is a month bill?

They won't charge you extra. At most suspend your account or ask someone to remind you Nothing too over they will do. Customer angry they won't earn anything much too

No experience but I think is possible. Someone mentioned this.

If u look at the bill ' time period & due date', then u'll find the answer. If it's due & ur line dconnect then only they charge u for re-activation. ur bill is 498 + 10 stamp duty( also we got to pay)+ 6% gov tax( gain we also have to pay)=RM508. Everything got taxed bro..even go to change ur tyre got service charge

but i don't find the due date there. nvm.. and u said for the first month we pay for 2 months of unifi fee. So that's mean for the 2nd month i do not need to pay anything anymore?

cannot stand it man ! my unifi is sooo dem slow.. cannot even go into gmail/hotmail

well dunno this will help but this are the tree things that helped me so far in all the routers i used in unifi.
Dlink Dir 615 then tp link 1043nd and now asus n66. Still use the 1043nd but for the gigabit switch only.

1. Important setting here is if u want N u need to set the radio to 40 and use AES only.
Second disable Firewall SP1 - seems to interfere with PPS ( eventhough PPS uses only like 200+kb/s)
Third us WPA only instead of WPA2. To cover this i use mac address filtering+IP reservation+ ARP binding.

Added on June 17, 2012, 3:54 pmgot it last time for 4mb package. was one of the first in malaysia. then suddenly around 2010 so inconsistent and a lot of days went without internet.

Since i always write on my notepad each complain id with the time report and time fixed and time down. Emailed them and ask for rebate. They gave it after 3 months.

Unifi is like prepaid. Beginning of month you receive bill. You pay for internet usage for coming month and call usage of previous month. Only for very first month, they charge you at the same time you pay for second month.

Example.

1/6/2012 you received email from TM attached with bill. in this bill, you pay for any usage for May and for internet fee for June. Get it?

When you first installed. Maybe 1/6 you installed. Then 1/7 you will receive bill charging you two months. You've already used internet for June. You pay for that. And then you need to pay for July. So you pay double for first month. Then next bill onwards, refer above.
