Guess maxis will be the first to impose throttling since they are not as big players as TM, furthermore the backbone is by leased from TM.

Anyone experiencing a rather on off connection with Unifi 20Mbps? Had no problems until yesterday evening, when connection became seemingly unstable.

I have done the usual:
1. Restart computer and wireless dongle.
2. Restart both modem and router.

Even powered off the modem and router for several minutes to let it cool off.

Odd enough speed is not capped in anyway, its just the connectivity is an issue.
I tried downloading a torrent, one moment it can go full blast 2.5MB or more then it will drop down to 15KB or less and then back up.
Same with web browsing, opening Google one moment is super fast next it might need to be refreshed before actually loading.

I was playing Diablo 3 fine yesterday morning, but last night and today connection is between 400msec to 2000msec.

Is Unifi going under any sort of maintenance at the moment?
Ampang area here, just wondering.

Whew, glad to know its not just me. Was worried the monkeys from the hillside had come down and tugged on the Unifi cable again rendering it useless. Those animals are crazy...

Thanks for letting me know, nohal

Nope smile.gif Maxis is very stingy.If u overused quota they'll charge u at 1kb/cent sad.gif

Agree.

My mistake too since I misunderstood about their service.

I thought RM100 unlimited use and pay RM100 a month doh.gif

Ended up paying RM250 sweat.gif
Register RM100 + RM250 (overused quota).

Although Unifi giving me a hard time...I will still use it.

Why not try changing the DNS? Comodo SecureDNS, Open DNS, Google DNS, Norton DNS etc. But if you're concern about your privacy and term of services, i suggest you to try Comodo SecureDNS. Google new privacy policy sounds little bit scary to me.

Possible. Because flat/apartment/condo (with exceptions) where amount of unit is huge, they will consider implementing VDSL2 system instead of FTTH (fibre to the house/home). If it's FTTH, is your area is covered, confirm you can install but VDSL depends on whether your condo/aparment is already hooked to TM backbone and the infrastructure within the building. If these aren't ready, you can't do anything.

Hi.. my hypptv remote rosak not even a month yet. Press one button other channel came out. Sometimes no one press also channel changes. I think this is not warranted. Is it better to buy the remote outside or at TM Point? Thanks..

Hi all here biggrin.gif . I just install unifi last week & the wire lay is very messy. The installer said he did not provide the casing for wire laying. I read somewhere there's free 30m casing for every new installation. Is this true? My God, if u look at my pic u know how messy it is.Wifey did not like it? Any cheap cost suggestion for now? Hence, i broke cos just moved to P14 Putrajaya  sad.gif

judging from you model, it was vdsl2,

and afaik copper dont have free casing though, only for fiber installation

sad right...
