QUOTE(davidke20 @ Apr 11 2012, 10:06 PM) Perhaps, you're the more qualified person to answer these question, may be you have a better answer for all this. No idea. No ABS.1) The car you met with an accident came with ABS or not? If yes, please refer Q2, otherwise skip to Q3. 2) During/before the accident, have you heard of ABS clicking on the drum brakes? 3) If got clicking sound during normal driving, does it mean ABS machine is jammed? 4) From what I understand, there are no censors to monitor the ABS machine, only monitor is the brake fluid distributor - am I rite? 5) If my 4th understanding is rite, that means if the ABS machine on individual wheels is failing, the ABS indicator light will not show. Please refer below quote from dares. Yesterday I've tested dares's vehicle and to my concern those are not the brake pad sound, therefore I'm suspecting the ABS machine on the rear wheel is failing. I have this experience with a FORD LYNX, when ABS was disabled, the clicking sound from the rear wheel disappeared. After several checking up and down and found the anti locking mechanism failed to release the gears. |

Could be engine timing. But only if the engine was rough.
My advise, if it doesn't start on the first few cranks, be more careful, as each time u on and off the car, the fuel pump pumps petrol into the engine. You may flood the engine if you pump too often and the car doesn't start. Other than that, you may want to check the regulars, like engine oil, starter etc. I've also had similar problems, but very rarely. Still unable to pinpoint the exact cause, but it may be caused by a slightly weakened battery. |

QUOTE(davidke20 @ Apr 14 2012, 11:09 PM) Wet spark plug Saga is Drive-By-Wire, stepping on pedal before car starts does nothing. You may experience it again, try to kick your pedal after 2 seconds of ACC before ignition, then you'll have trouble to start your car! But don't worry... There is no way I can know whether the spark plug is wet, but my experience told me these: 1) If the sparkplug is wet, crank speed is faster than usual and sounded muffled 2) To identify, you step on the pedal, you'll hear even muffled sound and crank speed even faster 3) Shut the ACC, wait for few minutes then try again, should be back to normal Anyway, you can't identify what happened just now. Because a wet sparkplug does not happen all the time(unless you got a loose piston ring - may be you should now go and check your dipstick too |

QUOTE(zeone @ Apr 14 2012, 11:41 PM) Tks a meg, Bro!! Airbag on or off light, should not make any difference. Will know for sure if no prob starting 2moro morning. Me also suspect petrol @ last fill-up. Will go top up with different brand 2moro. Was stumped cos no prob starting car all this time... Same goes to the FLX's ABS lights. That being said however, some do crank their cars before the ABS lights turns off, without any problems. But if I were to start my car before the airbag light goes off, the alarm wont arm |

QUOTE(dares @ Apr 14 2012, 11:52 PM) I would straight crank usually, oni if I'm in the mood then I wait for the ABS light to turn off and the fuel pump to shut up. That said, my cranking got 0.5 - 1 sec delay between turning the key and the actual cranking starts if I start without waiting. Of course la |

QUOTE(davidke20 @ Apr 15 2012, 12:03 AM) Bro, comes to think of it, if user manual against pressing accelerator, meaning DBW actually functioning after ACC. Use your common sense and think why they against stepping on pedal during ignition. Mechanical wise, I have not dismantle a GAGA before, but from what I heard from the ball bearing starter, there is an auto cut off function that prevent the starter being crank under 2 condition: 1) When the main shaft of the starter is still spinning, meaning if you fail to start your engine, your starter main shaft could still turning. If you try to turn your key, nothing will happen. This is to prevent your flywheel pull back your starter that causes damage to both starter/flywheel. The cut off will wait until the main shaft of the started totally stopped before it allow to crank again. 2) As same as condition 1... some sohigh.... So, I believe DBW is NOT cut off before engine start. I think it follow the ACC instead NOT provoke you, discussion only Could be the cause of some bloody weird noises i hear |
