ps. Bro Eric's BLM no ABS. Same for FLs.
IINM only FLXs got & that only hi end ones. tongue.gif

Added on April 11, 2012, 10:43 pmpps. Rear Drum Brakes sounds common knowledge now cos mechs@SC here up north oledi kno of prob.
However, no memos fr HQ yet of permanent cure. sad.gif

Mech also showed me 2 units of wat were supposed 2b fr taken out fr CVTs 2replace prob ones. White cylindrical plastic housing, longish with spring...CVT clutch/pump? Quite big units.

Added on April 11, 2012, 11:14 pmppps. ABS/EBD with NO warning lights of failure?
Thot wld b std in meter panels of such fitted cars. Savings on such necessities?
Then hving such features wld b like hving NONE!!
Cos driving car with FAILED ABS = Driving car w/o ABS!!
Kinda dangerous, rite? sad.gif
*
The light will lite up when the overall ABS failure/fused/brake loose/fluid distributor failure. But the anti locking mechanism on individual wheels, NOT SURE whether it has a censor blink.gif

Driving a car without ABS is not a problem, but we need some experience people in ABS to iron this out. We've tested dares's car, and heard clicking sound from the rear brakes. Wondering whether its the ABS. ABS indicator is not lite up. If indeed it's ABS problem, I supposed some of the ABS component are NOT monitored.

yup, agree with u, becoming the head of LYN thread doesnt hav to be the official member, not every1 hav the will to keep things alive like what TS did, Dares, there's no issue about u becoming the TS so dont get me wrong, i'm happy like the others...
1) the rev cut is at 6,900rpm... some see as 7k rpm, hehehehe...i drive my car like that since i got it 2 years back until now.. the rev cut is from ECU and yes, u can remove it but really unsafe bcoz our engine is lean running engine... operating temp is very hot.. as for the speed limit i'm not sure bcoz the fastest i ever go was 160km/h only since kuching dun hav good highway... in youtube i ever watch a 190km/h blm... camproturbo blm can go until 220km/h (alrdy close to gearbox limit) but cannot count bcoz alrdy using external engine management (bypass ori ECU)... personally i think our ECU dun hav speed cut, only rev cut..

2) thru my personal observation, i drive slow or fast, my FC stay at 9km/l - 10km/l unless i do heavy metal flooring for long duration, RM30 for 100km only.. FYI, very seldom to see me drive slow... so my FC cant be count since i'm not a FC type of person

3) in the video, my car still stock, using ori filter and air-duct... am not lying... i juz changed to open pod for around 2 months only, that also after i changed my exhaust manifold (bcoz after u enlarge the exhaust flow, intake flow also need to follow)...

have u watch the 10.5 sec video? that's my fav..

btw didnt know that ppl really take my vid seriously.. hehehe... thx very much..

cant help on that since i'm driving manual, old blm summore, hehehe..

More suspects:

- improper brake shoe lining, SC will chamfer (the SCs chamfered my brake shoes before they finally replaced it)

- Imperfect drum shape, though the service advisor told me a warped drum is caused by the knocking of the brake shoe, not the other way around.

- Rust. Makes sense, since the knocking sound is the strongest after leaving the car in the rain, or driving in the rain without too much braking. After braking for a while, the sound goes away.

- sticky brake cylinder.

hmm.gif  hmm.gif  hmm.gif

I've got the ChitChit sound on my left drum also, but dont bother to fix it. Most of my drumbrake cars have it laugh.gif Normally this kind of sound causes by brake pad sticking on the drum wall. So, either the pump failed to release or the handbrake cable wasn't able to fully release. So, normally when I'm tired of the CHIT CHIT sound, I'll just hold on the handbrake release button, quickly pull up and release immediately, then the CHIT CHIT sound gone! ph34r.gif Different than your TAK TAK sound issue. Provided, if drum out of shape, your brake pedal will push back every ticking you hear.

2 last thing you wanna hear, the drum design does not match with any rim Plotong uses currently, or the design is flawed.
1) Design does not match, meaning the centre holding point does not match with rim's centre lubang, result of UNBALANCE that causes slight movement when braking
2) Instead of PCD100, it machined as PCD99 laugh.gif, so when brake that time, your rim actually flicking oval shape and causes all the vibration(still, you're mentioning the ticking sound, NOT the vibration itself)

So, I'm still trying to search for a solution for YOUR problem.

It does happen, meaning I can feel the knocking on the pedal. Now not so much.

One thing that I am sure is that when the knocking sound is strong, 9 out of 10 times it's during cold weather or raining. Otherwise it'll just "tak" once when release pedal or when the car starts moving.
*
The last time I sent my ISWARA's drum to remachine, it causes RM20/side. Since you're under warranty, you most probably going to komplen about this matter to SC for the next 3 years straight without getting anything done/or do something else besides of fixing/changing a new drum. Finally after your warranty, you have no choice but to send it out and try to remachine it and that solve the problem rclxm9.gif

Your is company car rite? Got insured all driver no? If both answers = yes, either u bring your ride to TT or I go bkt puchong show u how to jam your brake on ur 4AT. smile.gif «= look at my innocent smile

QUOTE(poweredbydiscuz @ Apr 12 2012, 07:20 PM)
Maybe some MT bro can try it and see whether the engine will get stalled  rolleyes.gif
*
Definitely possible to let it run without accelerator/clutch on 1st gear, specially BLM 1st gear is extremely low. It happens when u release the clutch slowly until the engine RPM generate enuf torque to keep the car running under vacuum(covered this topic during last TT back in March). For BLM, most probably the engine will not stall on 1st/2nd gear running without accelerator.

QUOTE(zeone @ Apr 12 2012, 08:31 PM)
Me rber ole VW & Colt cars (other cars of past years) wld stall if lift foot off accelerator...
Dat's why most ppl @dat incident or came 2ask cld NOT believe car ckd reverse that far on its own... hmm.gif
*
Few things concern:

My 4G92 takes longer time to balance the RPM on 1st gear running at idle speed, but very high speed! Almost 20kmh. That's what I do when I scouting around seeking address. But it wouldn't work on 2nd gear because the ratio can't match at all. I supposed old VW/Colt also have a looser gear ratio(higher speed limit), that's why its very hard to do idling speed cruising.

My RX-2 wouldn't work at all on all gears. Its a twin plate clutch, 1st gear at 9000rpm is 85kmh laugh.gif besides its running on a custom fitted side draft racing carbs. Unless I DRIVE it & let it run at low RPM without kicking the clutch, otherwise from stationary to auto cruising sure will stall 1(consider the rough idling + heavy clutch)

BLM idling speed on 1000 with 1st gear runs on 5kmh?!maybe?!provided the autochoke has kicked in, its possible to assist on the autopilot incident. Its a F*CKIN USER PROBLEM!

To defend the useless Plotong, below r the facts:

1) 1 shall never open a car door when the gear is engaged
2) If your door(s) is(are) opened, 1 shall remain inside the car. Try to stop the car(if its on the move) and off the engine, not picking up things from the floor or try to catch the gate.
3) Your both hands + feets are meant to be full operation on your driving. That's why u will kena 3man if caught talking on the phone whilst dribing. Never assume u can control your car with 1 hand/1 leg less. Most common accident happened when driber trying to adjust their seat when reversing the car, tot veli fast gao dim. When the leg they use to support their body slipped, either another feet automatically release clutch or accidently slam on the accelerator! Either way, you're f*cked big time!
