I need a big huge favour from all the LowYat gang.......am looking for someone in DBKL who can help with work stop orders, etc. Someone who can magically solve problems that DBKL creates with house owners wanting to renovate. We have over built our house by a bit and they are making so much of noise, when so many houses on our street have built double of that and are staying in them for years. Need to find the solution to this issue. If you guys have any good contacts, kindly share. Thank you all very much in advance....

If is terrace, or Semi-D, the problem usually come from neighbor. You need to fix your neighbor, if not they still can ask DBKL to stop it.

Problem is not very clear. This is what I understand of your problem. You renovated in the past and you ate into your neighbours boundary. Now your neighbour wants to renovate and DBKL has asked you to tear down that structure?

And for what it's worth, don't think dbkl will issue a stop work order for your neighbours renovation if it's lawfully within his compound.

If the said "OVERBUILT" is not following the reno guildline n within your own boudary, u should have chance to continue.

But if it is eat over to others land than u no choice but to tear down..

Everything is built within our own boundary. It's just a jealous neighbour who has nothing better to do than to complain because in the past, he was not allowed to build, he does not want us to build. Why would DBKL even listen to neighbours.....so silly....my land, I should be able to do what I want. Nobody stops VIPs and ministers from building right?

Too bad you have jealous neighbor. But if they made the complain, you have to fix them. Cause they can still complain and DBKL need to attend to the complain. There is a standard guideline and you can't overbuild mean you can't overbuild.

I know some can even convert from 1 story to 2 stories, but that if the house owner have enough muscle, no neighbor complain, and have lots of $$$$.

be-friend lar to your neighbour, listen / see what they want n tell them what u want to do, see can reach agreement.

i kena this type of neighbor before, the aunty LCLY said this can not, that can not even though my reno all following the MPKJ guideline plus report to mpkj give me a compound for not display the permit on the 1st day of my reno started.
i was and start to find fault on her house rear extension too i found out her kicthen wall eat into my side about 3" n i demand her to remove her wall at her own cost

everything is possible but the cost i heard is same as one proton saga new car
