Hi, i never play XBOX 360 and totally noob for this console.
I need suggestion.

1) What is the better console? US, Japanese or asian?
2) What are the market price for the console above.
3) Those Elite Package, Premium Package and Core Package sold in Malaysia?

Hope you don't mind I tumpang this thread, I'm looking to buy a 250gb 360 kinect ready, but since I'm in Aus now I'm thinking of getting the pal version but will there be any pal game being sold in Malaysia or is it more exp? As ill be coming back next year end

3. I believe those packages is for older Xbox set. Currently, the new one is Xbox 360 Slim. Standard package come with either 4GB or 250GB disk space.

Will be hard for you to find PAL games here. I think it's better for you to sell that console before you come back to Malaysia.

what is the difference between modd and un modd?
If i have 4GB XBOX360 kinect slim..what are the advantage if i upgrade to the 250GB. based on my reading its only related games if can installed games or not. am i correct?

You should buy an Asian set for original unmod. (preferably Singapore unit)
For modded set, you can choose but Asia set from Japan, HK or Taiwan also can do.
Personally, I suggest you buy from Playtime Electronic. They are the best console and game seller. With strong back up on service.

why would you get US ver when you cant buy any games here in malaysia?

in regards to game, i can buy from US (i have no worry for that). I believed there could be certain games that can be played in US ver.

suits you in long run its not worth it, for a US console you will be missing Jrpg or games with Japanese voice over which only available for Asia console, asia games is also more cheaper.

as for multiplayer im not sure which region you will be joining....


edit:- oh u will also lose the chance of selling/buying any used game here.

I would prefer games that voice in English, as that is easier for me to understand. I know certain asia games, anywhere I normally will not go for games when it just released as that could be expensive unless it is real good.

Multiplayer, I thought the US console will not force you to join the Xbox Live region from US only. Hmmmm

If you're buying US sets and play US games anyway, make sure to create a US account. Live Gold and MS Points are cheap for US account, but as IccyAsd mentioned earlier, you won't be able to sold any NTSC region-locked games as most of us here have NTSC-J consoles.

you will still be locked by region locked games/dlc that based on country IP unless you know how to use VPN to by pass this. either way you are still same like having an NTSC/J console but hard time buying games in NTSC/U

Just found this thread. I might be cmg back to Msia for 2-3 years and I will be back to UK. I'm currently having 250gb Limited GOW3 Edition and UK games are all in Pal, right? I have to sell my console and get asian version?
In order to play PAL games I need to buy from UK? Can I play it in Msia?

I thought region locked DLC was things at the past?

I see, last time, peoples moaning about Gears DLCs, which still PITA to download, but seems for Gears 3, there's no region lock in place.
