Am looking at the current VW Passat CC Sports 2.0 TSI Turbo. 210PS and 280Nm torque with 6 speed DSG auto gearbox. VW is offering a RM16K discount so current price is RM 257K (OTR with 55% NCB insurance and windscreen cover). Has more interior space compared to the BMW 3 Series. Now comes with 5 years unlimited mileage warranty.

The upcoming facelift (May 2012) hasnt got good reviews for its design. VW has over-simplified the design to suit their new corporate image which makes the CC look very similar to the current Passat 1.8TSI.

What other changes does the upcoming facelift have and would it be worth the extra money over the current CC Sports Turbo?

I actually prefer the facelift CC. I believe its target crowd is the mid 30s executive who has just "made it" and wants something that's understated, serious and makes a statement that he has arrived, and yet not too flashy or over the top.

I disagree with the comments that it looks like the B7 passat. I own a B7, and I think the facelift CC looks much sleeker. I would buy it in a heartbeat if I had the money.

On the old passat CC, I must admit I really loved it when it first launched. I thought it was the most gorgeous car I ever laid eyes on. A few years on, it doesn't have quite the same wow factor. Cos I think every car manufacturer copied bits of it, esp the tail lights. Nowadays, it reminds me a bit of the new sonata I45 that I see everywhere on the roads.

Nah..i dont think so at all. I think the current CC is still a heart stopper. Its a 4 door coupe and not many coupe's have that wow factor. The upcoming facelift surely doesnt have that wow factor the same as the Passat 1.8. Dull and boring.

I travel long distance alot thus i need a car thats safe, comfortable and its warranties arent affected by mileage.

The pic of the facelift Passat is kinda misleading. Take the real pics of the car in white and ull see that its pretty dull.

leg room are ok at the back.. head room is pretty bad.... the elder will have problem going in n out of back of this car... the seat are pretty low @ the back...

and U have have to concern about the DSG if you plan to keep it really long...

when in sport mode.. it can be uncomfortable esp when both transmission and suspension also in sport mode.. coz its having 18" RIM..

From the photos in Volkswagen Singapore website, the interior looks very much like the current Passat and I don't see any real or large differences that would make me drool over the CC instead of the older Passat CC.

NO major changes except the front and rear and the inclusion of the fatigue detection system. Engine still the same. But its the new design which i really have a problem with. I can live with the rear (although it looks too dull) but the front is really bad in my opinion. Many US car mags have said the same. Most are disappointed with the new look.

Already launched in Singapore so it should reach Malaysia soon. Yes i too think the Passat CC is a better buy than the new 3 Series. Design better, more interior space and more tech for the price.

Mh. No. Both CCs can't match the F30. At first i thought... oh well. Yet another ugly BMW. But it grew on me pretty fast. Also the 3 series is said to be extremely well handling, the interior is very nice (not that VW is bad, but BMW is on a different level). If you want space get the Touran, Sharan or S-Max. wink.gif

I want a car with space. The 3 Series is rather cramped inside. The Passat CC has a better interior for sure. More classy. Although the 3 series comes with possibly better handling but then again, we aint really performance drivers.

Tough luck. Another factor that you need to consider then. So they have totally stop the production for the current ones.

Yeah guess so. I wonder hows the 2012 Volvo S60 T4 1.6L Turbo (180Hp and 240Nm torque) with a 6 speed Powershift gearbox. Launched in Aug 2011 and costs approx RM 225K (with insurance) which is about RM32K cheaper than the Passat CC Sports (2011 model).

if may 2012, then suggest u go for the new facelift, but not sure later how much the facelift model will cost...

volvo s60 and cc are totally different feel... if money is not a factor, still go for the cc (and make sure you deal with a good VW outlet/salesperson)

happy purchasing!

Pre-FL CC looks nice and sporty, and when FL was first revealed I didn't like it.

But the FL CC has grown on me. I'm starting to like the corporate feel it gives out. But still has the four-door coupe sporty-ness. One of the best looking cars I must say.

Hope they release a 3.6 V6 R-Line model for the FL, my dad looking to replace our 525i, and I think its a suitable replacement.

I have a CC at home. Build quality is good, just like what you would expect a VW would be. It drives ok, but it's a heavy car... you will most definitely feel the weight whenever you are driving in the city itself. One final thing that I hate about the CC is the steering, it feels numb... I believe it's the same for all VW cars.

If I get to choose again, I will most probably go for S60 T5 in red... it's a real head turner, expecially the rear, or maybe it's just me.

I find the new 3 series interior to be too plasticky for me. Doesnt give u the premium feel. Plus both front and rear seats are still cramped despite the slight increase in dimensions over the previous model. The front passenger seat is more cramped than before. Driving dynamics should be good but comfort is downgraded. Not the kind of mix i was expecting from a BMW.

There should be 2 types of discounts. 1 for the 2011 model and 1 more since its a model due to be phased out. BMW was offering up to RM15K discount and 0% interest loan schemes for their 2012 models so i dont see why VW cant do something more especially since their current batches are 2011 models.
