Hi All,
Im not sure if anyone asked this before but tried to search for it but unable to find what im looking for... im looking for an AM bike. i am now contemplating between the nomad or blur lt... design wise i prefer the nomad but just afraid it will be hard on the climb since it has 160 travel. I read the review on the web it says that it can climb well but maybe not as fast but it will rip the DH. To those have already been using the nomad, how does it climb and is it suitable for most of the trails here in malaysia? Currently using a HT and I do most of my ride in Kiara, PCP and joining the hash. is Nomad to much ? ..heheh Any reply would be highly appreciated *peace* Thanks |

QUOTE(izanee @ Dec 19 2012, 07:37 AM) Hi All, Don't get confused by the bike travel. Bike travel usually refers to the rear travel meaning it can take bigger drops and such. Furthermore, most new frames nowadays already put in the bobbing consideration. Hence, climbing bob should be least concernIm not sure if anyone asked this before but tried to search for it but unable to find what im looking for... im looking for an AM bike. i am now contemplating between the nomad or blur lt... design wise i prefer the nomad but just afraid it will be hard on the climb since it has 160 travel. The geometry of the bike is more important. This is the one that will differentiate between Nomad and Blur LT. Of course, due to the overall bike design, you will usually stuff in a 160mm, 36mm Fox Fork for Nomad and 150mm, 32mm for Blur LT. So, these add on to who can climb better. There are few users here riding on Nomad or Blur LT. They also use these for hash and jamborees and manage. There is a Nomad guy here who can climb and ride faster than a 29er... and say can climb better than a 100mm XC bike... He! He! He! Story short... Based on ur criteria, both frames fit u. Both frames can do the job. Choose the one the color and design fit u most. |

QUOTE(izanee @ Dec 19 2012, 07:37 AM) Hi All, you ask the wrong question. its not weather a 160mm bike can climb or not. its the design, are they build for climbing. some AM bike with good geo can climb very well. mine does. but no matter how good the bike design and how well it can climb.. AM bike are AM bike, they are heavier with slacker front... that is the penalty; and that is what make it tiring to climb. the bigger the travel the bike has the heavier it is. Im not sure if anyone asked this before but tried to search for it but unable to find what im looking for... im looking for an AM bike. i am now contemplating between the nomad or blur lt... design wise i prefer the nomad but just afraid it will be hard on the climb since it has 160 travel.
