Recently, i just rent a room at Subang SS15 there... It all seems very nice until i actually sleep at there for the first night.... OMFG.... I just realise how terrible the partition sound insulation is.... haizz..... i can hear the next room person sneezing, talking clearly like he just sit beside me..... Zzzzz.... I cant really sleep during the night..... I think the owner renovate the house by using partition in order to squeeze mroe room in her house to earn more money.... But seriously, can they just use brickwall instead of partition ??? haizz......
Can anyone have this kind of experience ??? Can teach me how to improve the sound insulation ???
Can anyone save me ??? I will Really Appreciate ur help.....

Actually, there are two different issues here.
Sticking material on the walls helps only to cut down the reflected sound within a room. For example, in a theatre or cinema, panels or soft materials are fixed to the walls to absorb sound rather than reflect the sound which would create the 'echo' effect. It does not help to prevent sound from travelling from one room through the walls/ceiling to the next room.
To prevent sound from travelling from one room to the next room, you need to have solid walls (brick or concrete) full height to the floor slab without gaps or openings (air-tight). Normal gypsum board partitions are no good to block the noise as they are light and have a lot of gaps. Furthermore, the partition is usually constructed up to the suspended false ceiling level with the space above empty. Noise can also go through the suspended ceiling easily.

move out. the place is a fire hazard. its designed to be a temp stay for maybe a week or two while you hunt for a better place.
nothing u can do regarding the noise. try playing white noise with your laptop and get used to it. easiest would be earplug
