I have a satellite dish pointing at Asiasat 3s and i kinda bored with the channel.I'm thinking of adjust the satellite dish to point at another satellite.Any idea how to do that?Which satellite should i point?

may be ChinaSat 6B at 115.5°E, lots of channels from china, how big is your dish, you may need 1.8m dish for this satellite to receive complete channels

or Palapa D at 113.0°E, lots of indo channels, 1.5m dish

pointing you dish to the right satellite is quite involved, pick you satellite first then do the next step: calculate the satellite dish angles

you can pick a satellite here http://www.lyngsat.com/asia.html

Someone install for me the satelite when i first bought it.How do we know that which satelite signal can we receive in my area(kelantan)?I think my satelite dish is 1.5m.

go to this list http://www.lyngsat.com/asia.html
look inside each satellite, then click on transponder footprint, if it's beam cover over malaysia, then you can receive the channel

so what sort of channels are you interested in watching? these Free-to-ar channels are very limited in selection, some avalable channels are in language such as Siam, Indo, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkian, Hakka, Indian, Pakistan, ......

are there any thing like motorized rotating motor like the one used on rotating antenna that can be installed on the dish so that we can adjust the dish without climbing on the roof?I actually thinking of pointing my dish to Thaicom5.

I prefer English shows.

yes there is, but is a bit pricey, this motorised add-on you can ask your installer, I think it is readily available in Thailand

but the trend now is to install multiple dishes each pointing to separate satellite, then hook up all the dishes to a DiSEqC switch

Wah,1 satellite also don't know where to hide liao. How they managed to hide many satelite? What about the dream box or magic box thing?any different from ordinary china decoder?
*
those dreambox thing is for watching encrypted channel

for motorised dish I don't know much about it, I think you need to change the whole dish and decoder, ask your installer

magic box? what is that?

If you want to DIY pointing to another satellite, I may help you a bit, but as I said in previous post, it is a bit involved, not for the faint-hearted

as for English FTA channels, quite a lot in asiasat 3s, other satellite such as Intelsat 8 at 166.0°E got 2 channels only: BBC world news and Australian network channel, very limited selection

or subscribe to astro, plenty of english channels
